YEEHA!!!! :D a brand new CW45 rests on my hip...
I sold the XD9sc today and headed straight to my regular gun shop and brought home a new baby. The XD9sc is a fine weapon and sweet shooter with mild recoil, but ever since I got a PM9 and CW9 it has rarely been carried. Sooo, it funded a CW45. This .45 is 6oz. lighter and thinner than the XD9sc, but very close in actual size.
I'm hoping that the 45 breaks in like the 9's did, with no hiccups.....no feed or eject issues. I broke it down a little while ago and gave it a good cleaning and lube. The grips on Kahr are, IMO, not very comfortable. I put an inner tube on and that softened it up a good bit. That made a difference on the CW9 and should do the same on the .45.
Merry Christmas to me.
I'll try to get pictures of the family up in a day or so.

Congratulations! And the inner tube is a nice clean fix for the rough nibs. I must have once laughed at that idea, but all three of my Tupperware Kahrs sport the inner tube grip cover and it doesn't detract from the looks, but really helps the grip... even the little P380. I was certainly glad I had that inner tube when shooting Buffalo Bore +P!
Good shooting!

took it to the range today and ran 1 box thru it with ZERO issues. IMO, less perceived recoil than the heavier and longer xd45c that I had a few months ago. that really surprised me. I was pleased with my accuracy, too, out to about 25 feet. I've got some phone pics that I could email to someone if they'd post them.

Heres the requested photos I uploaded. I'll let jreXD9 make the explanations.
Looks like find shooting to me.

from 25 feet.....for the first time shooting it, I'll take it. Double taps are more interesting than with my other 9mm's. you can see some outright fliers, but a couple were the result of trying the double taps. Regaining the target quicker needs some work. Got to remember.....SMOOTH all the way through.
I put an inner tube on the grip and it softened the grips very well. I don't think I'd wanna shoot this much with the sharp feel that these Kahr grips have.

Congratulations on the new Kahr .45. My XD9sc is still in the safe. I do plan to sale mine but have not done so yet.

This is funny, I sold my XD9sc and 45c right before I purchased my P45. Nothing wrong with the XD's, great guns in fact, but too thick for CCW in my opinion.

So many gun designs are targeted to police and soldier use. Until addressing backup guns there doesn't appear to be that much concern for concealment and what a "citizen" might choose. It is the single stack mag that makes a good CW in my opinion, and Kahr is a leader in defining the slim pistol in serious calibers. For what it does, the XD is a really nice gun.

I agree. I have two XD pistols. My thinking now is to keep the 4 inch barrel XD9 and sell the XD9sc. The poor thing just sits in the safe. I would like to use it to fund some of the cost of a PM9. Tell me guys will a PM9 really carry in a front jean pocket?

It must be so. Many many guys here do it all the time every day. They are certainly small enough.
Congrats on your senior member status, we'll have cake right after lunch.

You should go to a gun shop and try it. For fit, it doesn't matter if it is 9mm or .40 S&W. I understand the .45 ACP is a fraction fatter.

absolutely, a PM9 will front pocket carry in jeans. That's where mine goes when it goes where it's not supposed to go..........if it was to ever go where it's not supposed to go.......just saying......
I'm 5'8" and 190lbs and it fits with no problem.

Thanks, guys! I like cake! If I get a choice, German chocolate with coffee mocha ice cream and some Hershey's drizzled on top. Wow thanks, now that I am a senior I will have to be a good example and watch what I say! Kahr Talk is the greatest pistol forum. You guys "ROCK"!

the cw45 now has 150 rds thru it with ZERO issues. It's about to zip to the top of my carry rotation. 2 more boxes went thru it today. dang, for a small .45 this thing is VERY manageable.

Size is deceiving because of the grip and lacking the clutter of safeties and such. It is close to the same size as a 1911 Commander and can use the same holsters.

Hmmmm...we seem to be sorta going in opposite directions. I sold my CW45 a few months ago when I got my PM45 - no problems with it, I just wanted to go smaller. This past Wednesday, I picked up a new OD and stainless XD 45 c. If the XD is anywhere near as good as my M&P 45 c , I'll be happy with it.
Good luck with the CW!

I have a shooting friend that carries the XD45c. It replaced his Kimber Ultra carry II. I think you are going to like that pistol a lot.

You just get the XD for variety or more choices? Seems like the M&P 45C would be tough to beat in any category except ultra small and the PM45 covers that slot nicely. My son has 2 XD 45's and they are great for sure, but to me the M&P wins on looks, feel, etc. Man can't have too many options though.

There's only one gun I would ever consider trading my Kahr P45 for and that's an xd subcompact in 45. My brother has one and if it weren't for the trigger I'd almost have done it. That wider grip fits my hand much better than the P45. I love my P45 but that little guy just felt perfect, right until I pulled the trigger. I may consider one in the not so distant future as another option.

I suppose I'm going for variety. I hate to have two of the same basic gun. However, I think my gun buying and selling frenzy is over. Other than my High-power service and my 9mm carbine, I now have four 9mm's and four 45's. I won't buy a new pistol unless I sell an old one, [I sold a SIG 228 to get the XD] and I don't want to part with any of my current guns unless the XD turns out to be junk, which I doubt. I agree that the XD is going to have to be a supergun to match the M&P though.

I had a shot at a nice M&P in 40, it may have even been a compact, with night sights, and three mags for $550 a little while back. Kinda kicking myself for not being able to come up with that money. Still don't know how I could have, but wish I had.

Not a bad price, especially with the NS's. I paid almost $600 for my 45 c, but I had the store order one with a manual safety. The one they had was slightly cheaper w/o the safety, but I wanted it, and I won't buy a new gun out of the display case that been handled and dry fired by a thousand people. As far as the gun is concerned, I took it to the range and fired 200 rounds the next day, and it was great. Either I was having an exceptional day or it was the M&P, but I haven't shot that well in 20 years.
