My CM 9 has been very difficult in dropping empty magazines to the point of having to use 2 hands and pushing the heck out of the release button. It went back to Kahr and they shaved the inside of the frame to correct it.....well it did not work .....still very hard to eject 6 round mags. So instead I went to my gunsmith Brentwood Gunsmithing in Henderson NV and he noticed a bump out of the polymer just in front of the mag release button, well he shaved down the bump and the mags drop as they should.....so if anyone out there has a similar problem .....here is the answer.

First that I've heard of the problem, but it's good to know. When you sent the gun to Kahr did you tell them that the mags wouldn't drop free, or that it was difficult to release the mags. It sounds like they fixed a drop free problem rather than a difficult to release problem. This could have been a communication problem. At any rate your gun works and that's a good thing.

I had the same problem with my K40. I polished the part of the release that slides in/out of the mag and that cured my problem. Release button pushes with just my thumb now.
Just saying, there may be more than one reason for the same problem.

I did tell kahr I could not get it to release....... But having a repair person standing in front of you is better than a note inclosed with the item.

If you ever experience another problem with your gun it might be better to call customer service and explain what the gun is or isn't doing. In that way you'll know for sure if the problem is understood. The call is toll free and the CS people are easy to talk with and are very knowledgeable. Sounds like you've got a good gunsmith as a back-up.
Never had that issue but itsgood to know for the knowledge base

I've heard this on the forum several times previously. Some guys have stated they don't care if their empty mags drop...perhaps because they don't practice the same way I do and they don't compete. Neither here nor there I guess. But for me, it is a huge issue that empty mag drops freely. All my handguns drop their empty mags nicely, as they should.
Good info in your post. Glad you found a way to correct your situation. Smart to pursue it and good for you.

Would it be possible to take a picture of the area you shaved down so we can see the area you are referring to?
