Hi guys. New member and new to Kahr firearms. I purchased a CW40 (new) yesterday and have a question. The trigger has to go all the way to the frame before it releases and fires. Is this normal? Perhaps it's just me and being used to other triggers, but it just doesn't seem right. Perhaps it's all in my mind. It just seems odd that I have to pull all the way back.

Yes, I've had a CW40 for over a year and that's how mine is also. It shoots like a dream. I also have a CW45 and its the same for me.

Thank you sir. I've been trying to figure this thing out. My current carry is a Shield 9 and G23. So coming from these triggers this just didn't feel right at first. Knowing now that it's normal I'm gonna go put some lead down range!!

Yes, the way I describe it is (feels like) like a double action revolver. I love the feel of the trigger on these Kahrs and feel very safe carrying it. I just got back from the range and happy to report 120 rounds flawlessly run through myCW40. The only malfunction I'm getting is a failure to lockback on the last round about 75% of the time. Maybe increasing the tension on the mag springs and/or lubing slightly with silicone might help. I consider that a minor problem. And BTW, I've been racking the slide overhand ( as in Combat Focus Shooting) and have had no problems. I no longer need to release the slide lock as the manual recommends.

Welcome and have fun. CW40s are great pistols and once broken in are smooth as butter. Before you go to the range, highly recommend you go through some of the threads in the New Member Area first:
jocko's Proper Prep of a New Kahr
johnh's Kahr Lube Diagram
wintrout's Newcomer Welcome and Info Links
New Kahrs are tight and sometimes have issues, most all of which are addressed or referenced in these threads. Watch the video on how to reassemble it before you actually do it. The slide stop must be properly positioned with respect to the spring (below the spring, not above).
