My LGS has the CW9 for 369.99 and the P9 for 649.99

Other than the barrel, slide stop and engraving are they the same? I know the P also comes with the extra mag

Now that my CW380 is functioning well I'm interested in getting another Kahr.

I'm just trying to see why the huge gap in price. The CW seems like a steal at that price

Basically, the frame is exactly the same. The upper (as you said) is where the differences are. The answer though, is are the improvements worth it to you. Functionally, no, not really. But, you may just prefer it. P9 gives you a polygonal barrel, more 'finish' with the logo, smoother look to the slide. P9 gives you dovetail front sight. There are a few more sight options as a result, but not that many. Slide stop is different. You also get a second mag w/ a P series. C series you just get one. So add $35 before you really compare the prices. Not much, but a difference none the less.

Most folks are gonna tell you its not worth the difference. As a carry gun, definitely not enough to really be worth it. But, plenty of folks like the P series for the additional finish.

^^^ This +1^^^
I don't think of either of these as a "Target Gun" They are defense guns home and carry. I can't justify the cost difference. Wifey has cw-9 shoots it well and that's all she wants out of it. Poly guns don't work for me, imo

The C series are great bargains and my choice.

Found a P9 for 575. That seems like a decent price....not as good as 350 for the CW9 but better

Thoughts on paying extra 225 ?

If your going to CC it with a thin tighter shirt as summer cover the cw or p is the one to buy. If it going to be more a range and house gun look at ordering a 1/2" larger each way TP series as the price is around the same as your 575 P series or 10 bucks cheaper and you have no choice of a less detailed model.

I have cw9 and like it very much along with a cm9 and tp40. The barrel in the upgraded models is an improvement and the front sight is a worthy upgrade for sure. You have to buy an extra mag as the P comes with 2 so that difference is reduced another 35 bucks and at that point probably worth the extra.

See if you can find a P9 used for a better deal. I picked up my P9 used over a year and a half ago, and was the first handgun I ever owned. I paid $379 for it used. I have over 1000 rounds through it, probably closer to 2,000, maybe more. I take care of it fairly meticulously. And it is on my hip right now. I've been carrying my P380 more often because it is so stinkin small and comfortable, but my P9 is still my favorite pistol.

If you like the CW380, I'd recommend the CM9 over the CW9. Both great guns but the CM9 will be much easier to conceal and carry. My .02 and YMMV.

Would be VERY cool if a P/CW380 was in that pic too for size comparison.
