Since my XDs .45 will be hitting the ads as soon as it comes back from recall work, I’ll be in need of a new pocket 45. I'm not dissing the XDs; it shoots and conceals well. The trigger is good, I like the ergonomics, but when it comes to pocket carry and a better trigger, the Kahr wins. The XDs is 1/2” longer, which may not sound like a lot, but in a pocket it can be.
Apparently I had plenty of free time on my hands and decided to construct a visual comparison of the .45 pistols I had on my next purchase radar. I know, why didn't I include the Taurus PT 745 pro or the hideously expensive Boberg XR45-s, or this one or that one? I wanted to narrow down to 3 and these made the cut. I eliminated a 1911 patterned pistol b/c I have a Ruger Commander which is my EDC in Fall, Winter, Spring and rides IWB & OWB. So many .45's and so little time to drool over every one of them. The Ruger’s going out to be bobbed and new sights installed. (Its sure a purty gun) The new Glock 42 (.380) was added because my recoil-sensitive wife needs a larger caliber than her S&W 22A.
I owned a PM9, I am partial to the Kahr, and the PM45 is my choice.

Well done medezyner. You've been quiet a long time, thanks for stopping in.

I agree with your evaluation completely. I don't pocket carry but if I did I would not be comfy with an XDS or a Glock. Until such time as I can't handle anything larger I won't be packing a 380 although they do have their place. I'd be fine with the PM45.

I also agree with the Ruger, I have the full size and have ponder bobbing it as well. I love the feel of a bobbed 1911. And they are pretty too.

Hey Joe, good to be back. After I consolidated calibers (I sold all my 9's including my PM9, sacrilege I know ) I earmarked the money for a PM 45 (among other toys) but somehow it disappeared. Now the PM 45 is back on the radar and I cant wait to get the order in (NRA Instructor discount). Looks like a lot has happened in a few years.
I'll post the Ruger when it all comes together.

...but just big enough. For pocket carry I'll have to check out the threads about a flush magazine. Of course without that extension I'll be hanging on for dear life with hot loads, but that baby will be invisible in a front pocket!

Yeah I know, I have one for sale. it is not what I would call a pocket gun unless you wear old timer pants like from the 1930s....

1930's...that's my new wardrobe. Ya, I hear what youre say'in; its not going to disappear like my keltec p3at, but with a little forethought it shouldn't be too bad. Def not going to be hiding it in my wife's yoga pants.:D

What's yoga pants look like out of curiosity.

Now that I ponder what did 30's pants look like?

They don't look like anything from the 30's...that for sure! I carry around a defibrillator with me so my heart can get a jump start every time a woman goes by in those things. They don't hide much, never mind a ccw! Hmm, could be another new product idea for me to design. Extensive testing needed.

Ahhhh, the PM45. Purchased one in 2011 and a second one a year ago. More than 6500 rnds. through the first one. Smooth as silk.
