Well, i finally got the Sig out of layaway. P220 in .45ACP, had some Hogue stocks waiting for it in Pau Ferro and it looks sweet. Built in Germany in 1999 and still has some life left in the night sights.

I like it. Congrats. I just can't wait until I can get a K9 stainless with wood furniture.

Pretty, congrats!
I've got a P220.... but much older. It was one of the first Sig "American" P220's. Before that I had a Browning BDA-45, which was the Sig P220 first imported here in the USA. It had the magazine catch at the bottom of the magazine well. I sold it when the American came out, and was lucky enough to snag one used.
In fact, I sold it to the first owner, who had it for a few weeks, shot it maybe 200-300 times with no more than one box of factory and the rest our own range reloads. He didn't like it, and I think he ended up getting something else... I can't remember what. We had to take the pistol in as used... a shame. He got an ok trade as things go, but... ya know, its tough when you got a good customer who isn't satisfied.
I ended up buying it, and carrying it lots. A few years ago, I upgraded to the rounded hammer (mine had the pointy spur originally). The rounded hammer rebounds, so I had to add the rebound block and spring and pin. Also had to change the strut and mainspring, and mainspring holder and grips. Good thing. I enjoy the new narrow grips better, the double action trigger is lighter and smoother. Good to go, all around.
The only thing mine doesn't have is the dovetail front sight, but... I could add that if I really needed to. As it is, it shoots dead one at 25 yards.
Sig P220's get more accurate as you shoot them a little and dirty them up some. I have no idea why, but both of mine were like that, and I've read reports in gun magazines (back in the day) that seemed to suggest the same.
Now they have 8 round mags instead of seven. Thats a 9 shot .45. Plenty enough for a lot of uses. I still carry it on occasion. Great gun. Won't ever part with mine.
Congrats on yours... its a beauty with those grips too.

I'm gonna hang on to this one. I've had three before and got talked out of all of them by cop friends! There has been no other handgun in a serious caliber that I shoot better.

I've got a 1998 factory nickel plated P220 myself.
I like the balance of the pre-stainless guns.
It's a keeper for sure.
Enjoy your new Sig.
BTW you can get a SRT kit for that puppy if you like...

Never checked into the price of the SRT kit, because I already have it on my Sig, but seems it would be well worth it.

My nickel plated P220 is of 1995 vintage. I wouldn't part with it.
