I've been reading nothing but positive reviews about Dawson Precision's fiber optic front sight for the CM9. Does anyone know what the stock front sight height measurement is? I don't have the dial tool and want to order one consistent with the factory setup.

I suspect Dawson knows.

Personally I'd not put a fiber optic on a carry pistol. They break pretty easily. Most can be repaired, but still... inopportune moments happen. Can't have that occurring. Plus, they're of little benefit in less than ideal lighting. Just my 2c....

I'd suggest that you reach out to Dawson before you do anything to ensure proper fit. They will know more. You can't find a better sight. The FO is well protected in the metal frame. I put one on my S&WM&P40PRO and M&P22. Love them. Very durable, so I would not worry about them breaking. I may be wrong but it appears to me that it is the guys that don't use Dawson that caution others against using them. Reason: You still have the metal frame to sight from even in a SD situation with a broken fiber. I know tons of guys shooting competitively, drawing and holstering a hundred times a shoot....no problems. I don't know of one guy that has broken a fiber yet....because the fiber is so well protected in the metal housing. Many FO sights are not protected this way. I have night sights on my PM, but when they fail (and I suspect that eventually they will), I will put a Dawson on the front and flat black on the rear. Makes your eye go directly to the front sight without getting confused/delayed momentarily by any fibers on the rear. Leave the rear flat black. JMO because it is how I train. I use Dawson so I have some experience. :o

As garyb said, the Dawson Precision FO sights are very sturdy. I have them installed on my G26 and my CM9. I've carried the CM9 daily for about 6 months and have yet to break the FO. The standard front sight height is .180. I'm using the Dawson FO .180Tx.105W front sight with the standard CM9 rear. Works good for me.
