Picked up the new PM9 this morning:

Brought her home for a good cleaning:

Took her out to the range and shot a couple of hundred rounds for a break in. Here are a few targets:

Going to have to drift the sights to the right some.

As for my impressions of the gun. This is my first Kahr and my first 9mm. Back in the day when you could not pick up a gun magazine that did not have an article about the .45 cal vs 9mm, I came squarely down on the side of the .45. Well times have changed, the 9mm ammo has improved, and I now have decide to carry a concealed weapon. I have a Glock 27 (.40) which I carry but this new PM9 will probably see a lot of time on my person.
First off, I was a little concerned about the gun, having put the down payment on it over a week ago and shortly after that, found this website with lots of tales of woe about problems with Kahr's 9mm platform. I read the "sticky" about new gun prep and the lube "sticky". Upon disassembling the gun the first time I found the gun loaded with oil and a dry but sticky brown preservative on parts of the innards. Also the preservative was found inside/outside of the magazines. Gave the gun/magazines a through cleaning and then a light lube as per the lube "sticky". Then it was off to the gun range.
Using 115 grain FMJ ammo by PMC I went through 200 round without a single FTF, FTE, or the slide failing to lock back when empty. I alternated between the 6 and 7 round mags. Now granted the ammo was basically "hard ball" ammo that is normally a very reliable feeding round, I was still relieved that it work great during the break-in.
The gun, being as light as it is, and having never shot a 9mm before, I was concerned about the recoil. Not to worry, it was very tame IMHO.
It also just sort of disappears in my vest pocket inside the DeSantis Nemesis holster. Some people complain that the holster is to long but I will use that little extra length to be sown together, which is how I prefer a "pocket" holster to be.
The take down of the gun is a little different, but is not really an issue. The feed ramp is so smooth and shiny it almost looks like it is chromed.
The rest of the machining is top notch.

I could not be more pleased with the gun.

Nice group placement. Glad you are happy with your gun. Now....
Unless the sights are visibly off on the gun, before you hammer on the sights, try altering the amount of trigger finger you are using, both more and less. That loooong smooooth pull of the DA Kahrs triggers may cause shot placement slightly to the left of center.

You also will get a slightly different impact based on the bullet weight.

Personally, I would not move the sights until I have run the gun a lot more.
Just my 2¢

Welcome to the forum!

Great report. Awesome groups.

Why the PM9? Seems like so many folks have been passing up on the PM and getting the CM. [I have a PM9 so I'm not knocking your choice.]

When I got my PM9 it quickly became my EDC pushing aside my .380 and my Glock 26. Still carry my .380 from time to time but sold my Glock because it was getting nearly zero carry time.

"Going to have to drift the sights to the right some."

Shouldn't it be rear to the right and/or front to the left some? Moving both sights to the right the same amount would still have you grouping left.

Like others, I would agree, if this is your first Kahr, I'd work on your trigger technique some more before adjusting the sights.

Agreed...takes some time to get used to..............a lot different than the other manufacturers.................

Considering I too jut picked up a PM9, it's good to hear such wonderful range reports on this little blaster. Congratulations on your selection of a fine personal protection weapon. Nice groups too, but like the others have suggested, I would wait until I had a little more range time with it before making any sight adjustments. Another thing to consider is that with fixed sights on a self defense gun used at self defense ranges, unless things are grossly off, you can just move your point of aim a wee tad rather than drifting the sights.

It is a nicer gun. May not shoot any better then the CM, but it sure is purty!

I guess I'll hold off on the sights for a while. It has that long winded trigger pull but it is smooth and consistent throughout it's travel. I'll get use to it after a while. I'll try altering the placement of my trigger finger. Is that a form of "Kentucky Windage"? Will see what happens.

My attitude with guns and their sights in particular has usually been the gun will be adjusted to me instead of me adjusting to the gun. It just seems the shooting is a little more natural that way.

Thanks for all the replies.

You could bench test and/or have another good shooter shoot your gun to see if the sights are off or not.

Good answer on having another shooter try your gun. That could tell you a lot.

Run some rapid fire and you should find that long trigger allows you to get really nice follow up shots.
