Don’t know if I saw this video here or just found it. But it is hickok45 Thompson M1 A1 SBR video. In the beginning he said its similar to the one he carried in ww2 that was 69 years ago and if he was say 20 then that would be 89 years old at least . He doesn’t look that old, don’t get me wrong I'm not picking on him I simply love to watch his stuff and he is amazing but that got me a little confused. So how old is hickok45?

Every now and then, he cracks a sarcastic joke with a totally straight face. I think he's just being goofy w/ that comment. No way he's that old. Maybe 65. Maybe. No way he was in WW2.

Maybe Korea, if he lied and enlisted at age 11.

Hickok 45 I have faith in. Unlike the rat tail bearded goober who also spouts his opinion in the net. Hickok 45 has no hesitation in banging on aka calling out a weapon that he feels is problematic and he goes into detail why he is less than pleased.

The rat tail bearded dude never met a gun he did not like. I guess if he does not pole puff for the manufacturers he is afraid they won't send him anymore guns. Well it has not hurt Hickok 45 one bit to speak his mind by telling the truth.

Kinda like the inveterate fibbers in the gun press that never met a gun they did not like either.

There are a number of gun reviewers who never met a gun that they didn't like. I believe in road testing a gun before I buy it. I've always found that I'm the best judge of what I like.

His real name is Greg Kinman.
I think he's in his early 60s.

I like his videos.

I heard him say on a video that he actually never had the privilege to serve but admired those who did. He actually retired from teaching school this past May or June in Tennessee.

He was just joking about his new EDC, a Desert Eagle. With a straight face. Later he said he had no holster for it. I think he was joking about WWII.

Me too. When he wrings out a weapon he really puts it through its paces.

What I like is he's sensible and unpretentious, does not take himself too seriously, and obviously just loves to shoot. He's like other shooters I know in real life. Some other experts on YouTube know a lot, but their demeanor makes me cringe.

He discusses his age in this video.

As usual, he's reserved about his personal life. Don't expect a straight answer.

I've always figured he was about my age and I'm a young 62.

+1 Me too, Barth. I just wish that Hickok45 do a little more shooting in his videos. I think that he may be related to Jocko, though I wouldn't wish that on a dog.

I'm a subscriber to his YouTube channel, his reviews helped me chose the Kahr among other pistols. He tested the PM9 but I figured it was close enough to the CM9. I wish I had his supply of ammo.

His supply of AMMO is simply amazing and he sure loves to shoot those 2 liter bottles.
Have you folks also noticed that he keeps his range WELL maintained. The grass is trimmed and he keeps his metal targets freshly painted.

He's definitely someone I would get a kick out of meeting.

Now that He's retired, I wonder if he'll be teaching classes?

If I made from Youtube what he makes based on his popularity I could shoot as much as he does too.

I was reading that if you have a Premiere channel like that you're paid based on the number if hits and best I can figure he gets Hundreds of $$$ for his lowest hit videos. His big ones get way more than that.

This is who came to mind when I read LZ's comment only because of the "Rat-Tailed" comment...

Anyone have an idea of what Hickok makes off his YouTube venture?

AlexBrandon

According to his Everipedia wiki (https://www.everipedia.com/gregkinman3/) page, he was born in 1950, so that makes him around 66.

About $15,000 per month based on his number of views. I actually saw that somewhere.

Now that may sound like a lot and it is but would you believe there are youtube channels with over 6,000,000 subscribers where young liberal idiots post some of the stupidest videos some nearly an hour long of them eating pizza or something like that and get even more views than Hickok?

Who watches that stuff?

I'm sure he gets his ammo for free from the manufacturers. Notice in his videos that the ammo boxes are always prominently displayed on his table. He seems to prefer American Eagle for his range fodder. It's win-win because the ammo manufacturers get some great exposure in exchange for the free ammo. He also seems to have a pretty strong relationship with Bud's.

The thing I wonder about is how often he polices up all that brass from the ground.

I would love to have his range! It would sure beat the indoor ranges and outdoor ranges at the gun club I belong to..

There is no friggin' way he's raking in $15k/month from You Tube. I'm not saying he isn't worth it, he's a natural at gun talk, unlike a lot of morons who do gun reviews and shouldn't. The only way he gets a dime is if viewers click on the ads. I always click to turn off the ads. I never click on the ads. Since I like the guy, I probably should click on them once in a while.

I've been watching him a loooonnnnng time. In the early years, he shot his own reloads, his own guns, or guns from friends/viewers. Once his numbers got up there, he started getting ammo from Federal, and Guns from Buds, and other vendors. If you look at some of his real early stuff, the range is not as large, and has a lot less items. The range has grown with his following.

I'm OK with that. The sponsors help him show us more stuff.

$15K/month is only $180K/yr. And that's gross before overhead revenue. I wouldn't/didn't afore I retired work fer that kinda money.

I hope he does, more power to him. Sure deserves it more than some folks making that kind of money that I know. Some are about as useful as breast on a boar hog if you ask me.

I never seen no where near 100 grand a year on my best year and I'm sure that year was a long ways back. No sense dwelling on that.

Only???????

Sure, The Compound has property taxes and he can deduct a home office I'm sure, but gross revenue like that is 3-4x what I make.

I read somewhere how youtube figures what they pay but cant remember where. Its something to do with your acount type and so many cents per so many thousand views. I was watching how many views out of curiosity and he gets and its tens of thousands per day on his new videos. I guess all those add up. But you gotta keep producing to keep people coming back. That sounds like a job.

YouTube must be raking in the ad revenue to do that.

When he goes to sell that land, its gonna cost a fortune for lead removal.

I thought that exact same thing. I was thinking it's enough to be a hazardous materials site. I'd still like to have a range like that though.

I enjoyed what I was workin' at for over 54 1/2 years immensely. It got nutty lucrative towards the end and I coulda stuck around making even more money 'till I died at my desk or on yet another business trip. But at 72 it got to be time to stop, relax, smell the roses, do whatever I feel like at the moment, plot Bawanna Violet revenge, whatever. If I "work" at anything now it is/will be pro bono.
