I was wondering would a .40 and 9mm barrel fit in the new CM45 or maybe the TP or CW series? Be a cheap way to own three guns for the price of a a couple barrels and magazines. Maybe a question for Kahr technical support but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone here tried it.

Thanks Jocko, I bought a M&P .40 and put a 9mm barrel in it with excellent results. I thought the Kahr line would be an excellent choice to do something similar.
Good question. I have long wanted to use the Kahr 4" barrel on my CW45, but No.

I remember when KelTec had what became known as the "Holy Trinity" amongst the KT fans ... it was the P11 frame that could be fitted with 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 Sig. KT made very few .357 Sig barrels as they found that that round battered the heck out of the frame, although they did make quite a few more guns actually stamped P40. When I followed the KT chatter (Jocko knows the history of them too), there seemed to be a few folks that had all three uppers. I would bet that most of them are still owned by the same folks, and never shot. It is too bad that something like that hasn't been developed by Kahr. I wouldn't mind having one that could handle both .45 acp and 9mm, and maybe even 40 and 357 Sig.

I'd probably buy one if I could get a nice frame and use it for .45, .40 and 9mm.

what gun maker todayt makes such a drop in combo. I thought it was sig but maybe not right either, where u could buy the different drop in calibers and retain the frame. Sounds good when u think aobut it but really IMO not a real practical thing as u only have one gun at a time. Not to sure that concept ever realy caught on either..:behindsofa: The KT P11 is by ost owners still their best gun they ever made to, double stack also but the gun frame could not take the 40 cal and sig caliber well. The P11 did have some drop safe issues..:behindsofa:

yep, Sig has several barrel swap models. My former Sig P239 was the .40 S&W frame and there were several 9mm barrels available for a simple barrel swap. As I had several other 9mm pistols at the time, the 9mm barrel for the Sig just didn't seem worth the extra expense. The 3 barrel combo would make an excellent bug out handgun in the unlikely event of a total chaos situation as you would have at least those three options for use of "pick-up ammo".

Jocko, You are probably thinking about the Sig P250: interchange-able barrels and frames. Everything from sub-compact to full size/ 9mm to 45cal. You can mix and match them but not all are compatible. I think a couple of members have posted about them.
I think it makes good sense as an entry level gun. They are pretty reasonably priced for a Sig plus you can experiment with different configurations at a mitigated cost.
Back to Kahr: didn't Greg do some kinda barrel swap in his PM? Maybe he will chime in.

My Sig P250 [uses 40 cal and 357 sig] and my Glock 20 [uses 10mm and 40].

Now this has got me to thinking....I see DanTana said he bought a 9mm barrel and magazine for his M&P .40 which I also have and it worked....I wonder if S&W would say it's an ok swap? Sounds like a great idea to me if it will work....I have been thinking of getting a 9mm full size pistol since the ammo seems to be more available and much cheaper than .40 but I never thought about a barrel/magazine swap, didn't know it would work....You learn something here all the time.....

The Sig 229 can swap barrels for .40, .357 and 9mm....
