Howdy everyone. I just purchased a CW380, and this is my first Kahr firearm. I watched every video and read everything I could find on .380s, because I wanted a pocket pistol, and when comparing the Kahr P380 to other .380's in this size, it seemed to me to be the king of the hill for a double-action only. Great trigger, really good accuracy from such a tiny barrel, and made to shoot. When the better priced CW380s began shipping, I was ready to jump on one.
It's amazing I can type as I've just finished completing the recommended break-in and then some, and my arm is about to fall off. ;)
I really appreciate everyone that contributed to the guides. They were a huge help. Fit and finish of my 380 was good. I did have one small burr on the slide where the half-moon cut-out is located. It didn't appear that it would cause any mechanical problems, but I scraped that away and polished with some 600 sandpaper.
Next up was the degreasing job, and man did it need it. It was literally dripping wet with some fine smelling oil. Even the magazine that came inserted was dripping with oil. I flushed out every crack and crevice of the pistol, then coated all metal with Eezox and lubed rails and other high friction areas with a little Mil-Comm TW25B grease. Racked it another 25 times, and it is smooth as silk, now.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to run a few rounds through it and see how she handles.
Thanks again for the great resource you've provided, and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome to the Kahr tribe from another in NC. Don't be satisfied with "a few" rounds. Get out there and shoot it! It will put a smile on your face.

DK and Dueeast,
Thanks for the welcome. I had to settle for a few rounds this morning since it was raining, and I really needed to get to work. :) I couldn't have asked for anything better. I only shot two magazines, but it functioned perfectly, felt great in the hand, and was easily taking out cans at 7 yards without even trying. I'm looking forward to putting 100 rounds through it next go round. It is a fine little pistol. I think it is going to be perfect for a CCW pocket gun.
I have a Crimson Trace on order and just today I ordered some Talon grips. I'm really looking forward to more time with it.
Dueeast, you know, I'm already worried about that. I have an XD 40 that I planned on trading in on an XDS 9, but now I'm already wondering if I should consider another Kahr to keep the trigger pull the same in both firearms.

Welcome and congrats! Can't wait to get one!
.380 ammo hard to find and $, Academy sports in Hickory seems to have the best price usually $18/50. PrecisionOne.com ammo supply in S.C. has Hornady XTP HP for $18/50 last time I looked and good price on shopping.

After I placed my order for the CW380, I started the search for range ammo. Most of the big box stores are empty including Bass Pro, Gander, etc, but I am finding it in smaller shops around the Charlotte area. I found America Eagle for $24/50, UMC for $18, and TMJ Federal range ammo for $24. I have a few hundred rounds now and will stock up some more soon. Carolina Sporting Arms has .380...or did. I know it can go fast.
Is anyone here shooting Buffalo Bore Barnes for defensive?
I heard good things about Precision One. I asked them if their FMJ was round nose and they said it was round with a small flat. I had read that the P380 liked round better than flat nose, so was trying to avoid making problems for myself. Do you like their ammo?
Thanks for the tips.

Welcome Salty! It really is hard to own just one Kahr. I started with a P380 and then purchased a K9. Still deciding which one I will buy next. Possibly a CM9 or MK9.

Welcome from NC Mountains. We have 4 380's in the family and most of our practice ammo is the flat point 90gr and all run fine with it.
Enjoy your baby kahr

SGT: Thanks for the warm welcome.
Hardluk: Wow. Four .380s! Too bad firearm manufacturers don't do buy one, get one sales. ;) It is a very easy pistol to conceal.

If you do end up trying the rounds with a small flat nose ... and if they work ok for you, you should check out Freedom Munitions. I've found that nobody can beat their prices for .380's.
