View Full Version : CW 380 feed ramp pitch question
I was wondering if any of you know if the CW380 shares the same feed ramp pitch as the P380? If they are different could you post pics? I ask because I'm wondering if the CW will be just as finiky with JHP's as the P380.

From my experience it's something with the magazine that makes the gun finicky

one might get a finiky guyn but by and large the cw380 is veryt ammo friendly..My P380 did not like 102 grain golden sabrea, I never held it against thegun, I just moved on found a good defence round that worked fine and forgot all about it. Basically any 380 is just not a fun range gun, ammo is not cheap, not yet plentiful even, Fiund a good defense round and just shoot it like u stole it. I am fond of corbon 380 powerball for they work like a fmj. ot sure the BG is gonna notice alot of difference between most of these defense rounds, IMO.

If your referring to the follower hitting the mag release button through the window on the magazine, its not that. I fixed that problem. Mine just doesn't the like JHP's. Ive had a 50/50 success rate with them and thats pretty much 0% effectiveness for me. I can use the Hornaday Critical Defense rounds but I choose just to stay with hard ball during the winter.

K.C. - Yeah it sucks when a gun doesn't work like it's supposed to. I've had a few of those over the years. I either send it back if the manufacturer covers the cost or sell it at a loss. I don't like having a gun that doesn't work right.

I've tried any number of different rounds through my P380 and the only round that it didn't like was the Winchester flat point. I've heard that the Hornady rounds with soft plastic points don't feed well in the .380, but I never tried them. To be perfectly honest I think that you are better off using ball ammo in the .380, because the hollow points don't offer much in the way of penetration.

Hornady Critical Defense feeds fine in mine.

+1 to the Hornady Critical Defense 380 round. I have never had any issues with it in my P380 either dirty or not.

Mine will feed everything except Critical Defense. Go figure.

See what I mean. Every gun has it's own individual personality. Only I am one of a kind. (Did I open the door wide enough, Jocko?)

Mine will run with critical defense and does nose dives on the first two rounds with round nose. It drives me nuts.
