S&W must have lost or cancelled their contract with the laser company they were using. They redesigned their BodyGuard 380 without the laser.

I used to have the old version...............worked like a champ..............just not very accurate. Good for 10 yds. or less. It is what it is.

Or they were trying to get down to a price point? I shot one of the old ones and really didn't like it.

We have one with the laser...$300. Great little gun. Shoots out to 25 yrds just fine.

most people expected more from that kind of laser site, personally it it did good at 10 yards, I would call it excellent. Not sure how those recoil rod lasers acrtually worked but mor ethan likely not as accurate as an adjustment a sthe ore external versson. Still I think Smith figured the acerage kowner would accept it for what it was designed for. Guess not hun?? Just sayin:behindsofa:

Lasers are nice toys for a while.................never really used it too much at all. I think most people use it on the floor, to get the dog or cat chasing it. Wasn't my cup o tea. Got rid of it to someone who really wanted it, replaced it with a Kahr. Never looked back.
