View Full Version : My CW380 not fond of Remington

After the initial break in my CW380 has been near money each time out

Yesterday ran through a box of PMC bronze with no issues at all. Loaded up UMC and when I dropped the slide release it jammed. Out of maybe ten magazines it choked on the first round maybe 7 or 8 times. A couple of times a tap on the back of the slide worked in seating the round, other times need to drop the mag and clear

I'm very happy with this gun now however Remington UMC is not a friend of this pistol. Has anyone else had a similar experience with UMC?

I had first round issues early on and now eat everything including UMC and every factory reload tried regardless of bullet shape. What worked for me (may or may not for you...):
1. Disassemble and clean the magazines well after every range trip. Do NOT lube inside the magazine.
2. Polish/deburr the magazine feed lips, barrel ramp and the slanted part of the slide stop pin (bullet passes these as it is being chambered).
3. Ensure the slide and barrel are lubed to reduce friction. I'm an outlier to many on this forum in that instead of oil I prefer a small amount of gun grease (a small drop on the pointed end of a toothpick is plenty, wipe off excess) where ever the slide or barrel contacts metal. All of my guns are fired and cleaned regularly, so do not accumulate crud, which could be a drawback with grease.

UMC ammo is a tad on the weak side. Once you are through the break-in and your gun loosens up it might feed ok. If lot there is a lot of other good ammo out there.
