I just picked up one of these at a local show and have packed my full size 1911 for the last couple days. The workmanship is top notch and you cannot tell that there is a pistol hiding under there. So far, I am very pleased with the purchase. It is a bit pricey but a nice carry option to have so I thought I would pass this along.

The last time I wore a vest it was a part of a three piece suit. I ended up getting married. I think I pass on this one.

Last time I wore one was 1979 at a disco.

I can see using some kind of vest as a concealment garment, but not to house the weapon itself.

I've got a Rothco Plainclothes Concealed Carry Vest.
Really still prefer my gun on a belt even wearing the vest.
Plus people seem to think I'm a cop wearing this thing - LOL!

I tried vest, even had one special made but I too like the gun on my belt. I wear like a 511 vest similar to what Barth posted but it's not 511, name will come to me eventually. I use it as a covering garment when the weather is right.

I just never liked it to get to warm and have to remove the vest. With a covering vest I can untuck a shirt or do something else with the gun.

I imagine for some it works very well.

I thought that too. I was NOT going to buy this darn thing until I tried it on and put the 1911 in it. Sold..................

People still wear vest? I think I would just shoulder holster with a jacket on.

The beauty of this is you can go either way. Stick the gun in the vest or use it as a cover garment.

The vest I had made I goofed on. It has a ton of padding or insulation with a million pockets inside. Trouble is when it's cool enough to wear the vest I usually need sleeves, a real jacket.

The 511's and it looks like yours aren't so heavy so you can wear when it's warmer.

I wear a vest a lot during the cold weather here in Michigan but a use it as a cover garment.

Tampa is rarely cold enough to wear a jacket.
A light vest can work well in a semi tropical zone.
I still find I want to ba able to take off the vest though.
Usually wear a gun on a belt with a loose shirt over and the vest.
Layers baby...

Bawana gets it.

Even when riding motor for 25 years in mostly in south florida I did not wear a vest. I don't believe in making major moves with how and where I wear my CC guns so be it iwb or owb I carry in the same location and then only light coat or shirt as a cover is needed.

I just picked up a tan vest something like Barth has. The jury is still out for me. I like that it covers OWB carry well, but when I need something over a shirt, it typically means I am cold and need a coat. I am not sure the in-between times between winter and summer here in Missouri will be long enough to be comfortable in a vest.

Not bad looking. Now those safari vests and photojournalist type vests just scream gun and IMHO are only worn by noobs.

Vests work, but for anyone trained they are a dead giveaway to a fellow CC carrier.
Look at a 5.11 Range Vest as it has a nice full zip collar.
