I absolutely love my K9. Silky smooth action, well balanced, comfortable to shoot, and highly accurate. I also have a P380, which I love too, but I think these all steel Kahr's are truly special.
I have been thinking about buying an MK9 for a few reasons. One is I prefer a 9mm over the .380. I would probably keep my P380 because it is a great firearm too, and sometimes there are situations where the P380 would work best. Still not a lot of difference in size with the MK9, mostly just weight. My fear though is the P380 would spend most of its time in my safe.
Also thinking about buying a T9 in the future, if one can be found, for more of a night stand gun to keep around the house. When comparing the T9, K9, and MK9, I found some interesting things. I would consider the T9 to be full size, the K9 midsize, and the MK9 compact. For the size differences between the K9 and MK9, the weight difference is only 1 ounce, but about 3 ounces between the K9 and T9. The MSRP is also the same for the K9 and MK9 at $855.00. The T9 actually has a lower MSRP of $831.00. Anyone else think the size, weight, and MSRP differences seem somewhat out of whack?

Bought a K first, then got the T, and love them both equally and carry them equally. Next is the MK and my family will be complete. Cannot go wrong with the T as it is my sweetest shooter.

and don't forget about the 40. You will need to get a K40 and an MK40 too.

When you get around to looking for an MK9, I would recommend you look for one of the Duo Tones like mine below. They are not near as available as the stainless ones, but when they do come up for sale they usually sell for a hundred dollars or more less.

I think the the prices on everything are out of whack. Of course I can remember buying gas for 25 cents a gallon and cigarettes for 23 cents a pack. Twenty two long rifle ammo was less than a penny a round. You wanna talk outa whack?

Look for a used MK9. I found one at a pretty reasonable price; they're out there.
Mine weighs about 26.3 oz loaded. That might seem heavy, but I can't feel much weight difference when it's on my hip, it's the bulge pressing against my side that I feel and all guns in a certain weight/size range feel about the same to me.
I always say, carry what you shoot best; carry what you enjoy shooting. The MK9 is that gun. My K9 is also that gun. I can just barely feel the size difference with the K9. I'm not sure why I carry the MK9 instead, but I do.

The K9 and T9 are great pistols. None better in my opinion.

Just tuck that P380 in your sock and let it go along for the ride. Might come in handy sometime.

Sarge, if you're worried about that P380 gathering too much dust in the safe, just send it and a couple hundred rounds of ammo to me every few months and I'll blow the dust off of it for you. After all, what are friends for?

Ha, thanks for the offer muggsy, but with the warmer weather, the P380 has been getting plenty of attention lately.

I like the tuck the 380 in the sock idea... I would go with an ankle holster myself.
