Every year since 2002 has seen a rise in the number of NICS background checks performed, yet in 2011 the firearm homicide rate was lower than it was in 2002; in fact, all firearm violence, both fatal and nonfatal, was lower the former year than the latter."
"So in reality, as civilian ownership of guns continues to rise, violent crime continues to fall in America. For those of us who live in the real world, this makes sense – the more law-abiding citizens own guns, the fewer people there are who criminals will perceive as potential victims and the more likely a criminal is to think twice about breaking into someone's home in the middle of the night. Patterns of victimization bear this out, since people who live in very restrictive, anti-gun locales are more likely to be the victims of criminal activity."
But just try explaining that to a Liberal, and they will look at you like you're speaking Greek. They can't admit they are wrong, so the figures have to be wrong, or this or that was left out. Always excuses. It's like their brain would explode if they were to accept the truth. Heck it might after all the years of Liberal brain washing.
Compare our figures of violent crime per capita, with Britain's, and Australia's. Crime is much higher in these "gun less" countries. Britain has become a very violent society, with gangs of thugs roaming the streets looking for victims to rob so they'll have some money for the pub. And many older Brits barricading themselves in their own homes and hoping no one breaks in and murders them, for if they fight back and hurt one of these poor boys, just about to turn their live around..... the homeowner will get a stiffer sentence than the hoodlum. God forbid they should kill one of their attackers, with a cricket bat or something, as then they are up on Murder charges.
Finally some Brits are tired of this crap and are working to get their gun rights back. But the laws that make the victim the outlaw need to be changed too.
Australian's admit they made a big mistake, and warn us not to go down the path they took.
