I've been trying to call Kahr to order a part for the last 4 days. All I get are recordings from the service and the sales departments, saying to please hold, And after a while I'm told to leave a message, which I've done. When I finally got through to an operator I was told that there's only one person (Ian) answering the phone in the service dept. and only on person taking orders. I even left messages for Frank Harris, who I believe used to run the whole operation. I haven't gotten any response back, even from him.
I wonder how they are handling warranty requests, if at all.

I might be way off base with this as I don't know any details as to when they're moving or not but I wonder if it has anything to do with them moving their business to another state. A skeleton crew in the office so to speak.

Remember, that area of the Country is currently having some very bad weather. That could be a reason. I like better the reason you can't get through is they are moving to a Free American State.

I suspect a combination of things. SHOT was last week, should be back from that, the weather of course is horrible. Who knows.
Don't give up, I think they are still alive and well and will be long into the future.

I sent an email the other day, and it was promptly answered by Jay..................

+1 Bawanna. They're not going anywhere. They have some of the best selling guns in the country.

They really don't do parts orders by phone. They want you to use the online service at their site.
Emails with pictures where helpful gets better response.

I didn't think of any of the above scenarios. Any one of them may be the reason. But on the occasions that I did reach an operator I was never told that there could be a delay in responding because of......... He or she just transferred me when I told them it was a warranty issue.
As far as me asking if they went out of business...I now realize that was a poor attempt at levity. :blushing:

Well, just an update. This is the second week of trying to speak to a live person at Kahr. Finally on Friday I spoke with Ian who told me that the shot show, move , weather aren't the problem, just understaffed, that there are no people in service but him. He transferred me to an extension that never picked up. I couldn't get back to service.
This morning I called again. Again I got Ian. I told him I have a warranty issue. Again he transferred me. This time to the web shop that only takes paid for orders. Again I couldn't get back to service.
We own 4 Kahr pistols, two 1998 K9 Elites and two PM9s. and they've been 100% reliable. More so then the current customer service.
There is no excuse left that I can think of to justify this poor service practice. I left messages and gotten no replies. he long distance calls cost more then if I purchased a new part.
End of rant.

JG- PM inbound.
I think they are...I sent an email to Doug Williams with a read receipt. I got the receipt that my message was displayed on his computer so I guess someone is monitoring his computer. ;)

About two months ago I sent my PM45 slide into Kahr for night sights. About a week later I received a package. My slide. But no night sights. Nothing. not a note or anything. So I called and emailed. Took about 4 days to reach anyone. Finally got in touch with the main guy who was very nice and apologetic. They had me send slide back on their dime. It's been 4 weeks and nothing. Emails and phone messages are not returned. I have no idea where my slide is and whether I will ever have it returned. Any ideas? I think this may be my last Kahr.

Being a new Kahr owner (My first) I find these problems and comments very discouraging. I sent an email a week ago inquiring about a part under warranty and have heard nothing.
Have to say I have never had service problems like what I am hearing here.:(
Hope these are the exception rather than the rule.

In the age of cellphones, skype and google voice, who pays for long distance charges anymore?

They are and you'd be well advised to ignore most of the negative troll type comments we seem to have a rash of lately.
I'm gonna make it my mission to determine where all this is coming from. I'll keep ya posted.
I don't work for Kahr, I don't drink Kahr kool aid, but I've not had any issues.
Are there issues, apparently so. Is it getting worse, I don't think so but one would think so based on recent post.

If it is confirmed that Kahr Arms are going out of business or is selling, you will likely hear a Sasquatch Howling from the Frozen Tundra of Central Indiana. That'll be me.
I love my Kahrs. I only have two at present time, but there is always room for one more.

I'll give credit where it's due. Not sure if it was due to the influence of a certain person on this forum (you know who you are), but I finally got a call back today. I have been promised my slide back by Friday with night sights at no charge.

I hate their current service ! It wasn't ever like this in the past !
Here's an up date on what' been going on
Some time back I posted the question " Is Kahr still in business", because of the numerous unanswered phone calls and e-mails I sent for a replacement of a broken lifetime warranty part. I even offered to pay for the part.
Someone here offered to take up my issue directly with Kahr. If I recall, he also had some contact issues. I won't divulge his name because of fear that he might get pestered with requests. (Thank you who ever you are).
Well after some more time this philanthropist  did make contact. And on 2/11, while we were in NYC there was a message at home from someone named Jay, that the part was shipped.
Well as of yesterday, I still hadn't received the part. So again I started to try to contact someone at Kahr. Finally after the third attempt I got to the operator. I asked to speak with Jay. He was Jay. He told me he sent the order down to service and it should have been shipped, but he would do it again.
So from 2/11 the item didn't go out.
I then asked him if all this lack of communication was because of the move. He said no, that only the admin. dept. had moved. And there was only one person in service and one in sales to answer the phones. This was said in a way that made me think he wasn't giving me full disclosure.
I'm normally a very patient man, and allow for mistakes and, I thought of glitches because of the move. But what I've experienced with Kahr is very poor customer service.
Many, many calls and emails to service with no response back.
The 2 times that I was able to speak to Ian, and explain the warranty thing, he immediately transferred to sales, and I sat in limbo.
Numerous messages left with Frank Harris in admin have been unanswered.
Would it be beneficial to have a Khar customer service evaluation forum?

I've been considering a CM9, but until this seems to be getting better, I'm not touching one yet. I've never had to send a gun back to the factory before, but I wouldn't want this to be the first one, and then have to put up with this.
I just recently purchased a Sccy CPX-2 and one of the magazines was bad, I made a call, someone immediately picked up the phone and told they'd have a new magazine out to me shortly. A few days later I had a new magazine. If a little company like Sccy can respond this quickly and easily, Kahr certainly should be able to.

Most likely you wouldn't have any issues to deal with and I think this is just a temporary....what did Hillary call it, a bump in the road.
I predict things are gonna get better with a little patience.

I just ordered some parts last night. They had shipped before 8:00 Pacific time this morning and sent me a confirmation by email. That was a fantastic transaction.

Well the part showed up today, after more then a month of trying.
It was sent via Fed-X
I have to believe it was because of my mentor applying some pressure that finally got me the part.
I'm still of the opinion that a Kahr C.S. evaluation forum should be started. And the moderators would go through the postings and weed out the frivolous ones and send the serious ones off to Kahr every 6 months or so.

I like the idea immensely but we have to remember that none of the mods work for Kahr. Well actually we all do but not on the payroll so to speak. If Kahr was receptive to the idea and I have no doubt they would be and JohnH was equally receptive it just might fly.
I'd thought that a CS report card sent with repairs and parts orders direct from Kahr might cover more folks, not all Kahr owners hang out with us here and that's ok.
Maybe reports from here would be enough to give them an idea of how they are doing too. I don't know much about marketing and such.

I would think Kahr would want to distance themselves from as as much as possible given so of our banter here.

I guess I live in the past. And possibly expect to much now.
Both our K9 Elites were purchased back in the late 90s and our PM9s IIRC in the mid 2000s.
I remember dealing with Dottie in C.S. Stephon and Randy in service, and others who I don't remember.
Service and response time was great back then.
Possibly because Kahr was still new. Now maybe they've gotten to big to deal one on one.
How about a thread by us old timers that remember the above named folks and how great they treated us? And it gets passed on to Kahr.
I'll start a new thread on this if it's OK
I can think of 2 things that Kahr did for me that's would normally be unheard of.

Hi,
I always believed that she had a lot of clout to make decisions in that company.
