I kind of like that myself. I think that would be sweet as a complete finish on a steel gun too. Different but not silly like some you see now days.

They use PVD coatings on some golf clubs. Seems to hold up to abuse. I prefer the black finish.

Saw one of these at our LGS today, the wife fell in love with it...and bought it for herself. First time she picked out and purchased her own gun.:D

It looks even better in person. Got it for $519 plus all the taxes. She can pick it up Tuesday...
