...... regarding the fiber optic sights I have put on my PM9. All I can says is...., they are awesome. :D I can now see the front sight even without my glasses on. As some of you may recall from previous posts, I replaced my night sights with teh fiber optic sights. Yes...., I suppose it could be viewed as being quite uncool. I mean...., everyone like night sights right?

Well..., Not really. The issue I have is I cannot see the front sight well enough in the daytime. Especially, if the background is light. For a quick shot in a high stress situation...., It just will not work for me. I am giving up those glorious green eyes I see when sighting at night. Now, the only green eyes I get to look at are on my well faded picture of Wonder Woman (Linda Carter to you younger guys).

I figured the optic sight will work for me while I carry the gun (day and early eve. When I am in bed at night, I have a tactical flash light next to my gun on the bedside table.

Anyway, the fiber optic sights have held up really well. I have cleaned my gun a few times with no issues to the sights. In addition, they have not broken off like some folks think they do. No issues when re-holstering (e.g. snagging) on my IWB Don Hume holster. Overall, they work pretty well.

What would be cool would be to invent a fiber optic sight that glows in the dark. Hmmmm......... I need to think about that for a while..........

Those are some of the same issues I've had. Couldn't see night sights during the day. The XS sights work well for me, they have a nice bright ring that show's up well during the day and the night sight part glows bright in the dark. Being kind of afraid of things that go bump in the dark, I tend to hide under the covers with my flashlight alot.
I have a set of fiber optics on one of my Para's that I will eventually replace, they are slightly better in daylight but still not too good. I think there are varying qualities also. I think you got some good ones and if they work for you that's all that matters. Glad you found the perfect setup.

I do not know if I would call this the perfect setup but it is OK for now. I did not consiuder the XS sights. You are right...., big dot during the day plus the "big green eye" at night. Hmmmm........ Now you got me thinking. I think I need to check those out. That may be pretty close to the perfect solution.

(I still will continue to look at Wonder Woman's green eyes however) :D

right, I am sure there are good and poor fiber optic sights. I think we can get sucked in by the words "fiber optic" thinking all are the same..

Wonder Woman's green eye's are a given and nobody can take that away from you. Hope you don't mind if I look from time to time as well, strictly platonic with no ill immoral ideas involved.:lie:

Theres some fairly decent pictures of the set I got from ryoung and pounded on my PM45 here someplace. Wish I knew how to do the linky thingy. They are the big dot version that I wanted to try. I haven't shot it yet with them installed but I think we're gonna get along just fine.

I used to call her "Wonder Whoopies"... my first wife didn't appreciate that... come to think about it, neither does my present. She frowned when I said that, too.
Technological marvel, though --- that brassiere part of her costume or uniform.

I remember those or I'd have to break out the magnifying glass! I still haven't figured out how to have text, picture, text, picture... and so on in the same post. I just get text and all of the pix at the end... but mine "blow up" or get bigger.:boink: LOL:D

I had better go get my tickets for Wednesday's PowerBall -- $190 million... cash $99 million... before the Gummint takes 40 -50% or so. They can't decide how much they can grab, but they don't let "legal" stand in the way. They evidently can enact "Ex Post Facto" laws since they don't let the Constitution get in their way.
I might actually do some work tomorrow or do something with Wifey. She'll be off for two days. We haven't been to the beach this year. I like to drive in the sand and watch the 2-wheel drive bunch get stuck, especially when they let the tide come in around their vehicle. I'm leery of helping people like that. It's more fun to watch someone else pull their bumper off. When the tide comes in around your vehicle... it's stuck... unless you have 4-wheel drive AND know how to use it.
I have AWD, but I stay out of the water... salt water and salt spray... not good for your vehicle.

Reminds me of when I was a teenager in the Florida Panhandle and we used to make money all summer by pulling the tourist vehicles out of the roadside sand. The sand there is like sugar; beautiful, white and so fine just a short venture off the road shoulder and WHAMMO, you're stuck.. my friend's jeep had no problem pulling the cars out for a nice $10 each... some people actually got angry that we wanted $$ to help them, but hey, don't want to pay us, pay a tow truck over twice as much.. their call......

I know this is an old(er) thread but there are fiber optic/tritium sights on the market already, made by TruGlo
TruGlow TFO's (http://www.truglo.com/IW_Products.m4p.pvx?;PRODUCTS_NO_TREE?cat=30500?co mpany=TGI).

Granted at this time they don't list sights for Kahr's, it doesn't mean that A) They won't make some in the future and/or B) One of the current set's wouldn't fit. :yo:

TruGlo TFO Tritium & Fiber Optic Sight is just the ticket.

I don't think they make one to fit a Kahr though:mad:
Might be too frail for a carry gun too.

Check'em out here:
TruGlo TFO Tritium & Fiber Optic Gun Sights (http://www.botachtactical.com/trtfogunsi.html)

I've seen one at the range at dusk...spooky:D

Just sayin'
