View Full Version : I'm a traitor...
...No, not like Ovomit...
I bought a Glock 17 GEN4 last week; it's sole purpose: for "2nd" home defense. I recently began working out of state and have an apartment there and I can't carry at work or even am allowed to have it in my car on the owner's property (federal regulations) so it's strictly an apartment dweller. The off-hand weekends I don't fly home I'll spend time at the nearby ranges. I love my CW9 but that G17 is sweet... :o

Don't feel like you a Traitor. I too have Glocks and I like them. However, I think Kahrs are better.
I suppose I shouldn't feel that way. My wife and I own Kahr's, Taurus's, S&W's, Rugers, Mausers and an assortment of different makes of long guns. It's just that buying that Glock just felt... sacrilegious! LOL!

When it comes to weapons.
I feel much like a Mormon might about having wives.
We should all have more than one
And it's best if they are very different.
I've got a Glock, a few Sig Sauers, several S&W wheel guns and bunch of HKs.
I love my Kahr and I'm no traitor.
Just an equal opportunity gun owner.

I used to feel the same about tactical Tupperware 20 years ago until I was enlightened. Now even my preferred kahrs are recycled Legos.

In high school I drove a 67 SS Camaro.
Promised myself I'd never own a rice burner.
My first handgun was a stainless steel S&W 629 44 Magnum revolver.
Promised myself I'd never own a tupperware firearm.
Today I drive a black Toyota Tacoma 4x4 and carry polymer HKs.
Things change...
Except I've still got that 44.
And it's still one hell of a shooter -

I don't see the big deal. Glocks are great guns. Enjoy and shoot the sheet out of it.

No Glocks for me. Butt ugly, lousy grip angle and more than a handful with the double stack magazine.

Negative...Call me shallow, but I expect my guns to not only shoot well, but look good.
And I've never seen a good looking Glock....;):D

Ohhhh....looks I suppose are pretty much a personal opinion I suppose. I personally find glocks to be the best looking of all the handguns. While I do have several I also have multiple kahrs and other guns. The Glocks for me are the best shooters made. But they don't make any small enough for me to consider for every day carry use.
I felt Glocks were ugly too and would never own one. Until I purchased one. I don't know the origin of the phrase "Pretty is as pretty does." but it sure does function/shoot like a champ. They look a whole lot better then they used to.

When the SHTF there's nothin I'd rather have in my hand than a butt ugly, blocky, piece of Austrian Tupperware.

I have more Kahr products than Glock but I feel the Glock is maybe a more well sorted out gun. I can't say its better because I feel Kahr uses better parts and does a better job machining but rather I think they have better quality control. When Glock puts out a PM9 sized gun I will buy it. Until then hopefully Kahr gets thing figured out a little better. Its a great gun build on.

Fit the weapon to the threat. Kahr's are great concealed, double stackers are better for home defense and open carry. Personally, Glocks are too fat for my hands, but I love my S&W M&P 40Pro with 5" barrel.

No biggie. I wasn't selling my Kahrs anyways. Shoot what you got. Shoot what you like.

There are too many great guns out there to limit oneself to a single brand. It's like having kids. You love them all.

I find a paper sack with eye holes over the head makes everything seem ok. It's worked for me in several instances. Driving Fords, when I do stuff with my Glock, I picked up a Kel Tec carbine type thing at a gun show once, fortunately I had the sack with me.

Yes sir, I was even an Eagle. Never did fly though, fell off a pretty good cliff once on a camp out but dropped like a rock, not sure what that's all about.

I know Glocks work, but they sho' be ugly! Kahrs, Rugers, S&W, & 1911s for the win!
Say Barth - here's my oldest son & DIL in his '69 RS (New crated 350, 4 speed auto tranny, 4 wheel disc brakes, & suspension).... waiting to get a nice paint job:
