Went to the range yesterday and put some rounds through the PM40 that I just got a few weeks ago. There has probably been about 100 rounds through the gun, maybe 125 after yesterdays session.
The problem that I am having is with the slide locking back open after each shot is fired. This would require me to push the slide lock down after each shot was fired... This is really weird and I don't understand how it is happening with bullets in the magazine. Also it happened with the 5 & 6 round mags... Anyone have any insight into this... or is it just becasue its not broken in?

It could be this: Your slide lock lever is over that little springy thing instead of uncer it. Pull your lever out and look at it andyou willsee a tab on that lever and there is a little groove on that tab even. That is where that springhy thing should go. You should hear a snap when inserting the slide stoplever, even if u have putit back correctly.
Pull the slide back with no magazine inside and see if it locks open. If it does then what I told you is what is wrong. I think what is happening with every round locking open is that that springy is pushing up the slide stop lever instead of actually wanting to push it dowward. Very easy to check out.
a simple way to check to see if the slide stop lever is on correctly, that once you get it in, push up on the lever and let go, it should immediately want to pull itself down..

If you had no issues during the first range session and you now have issues I'd say Jocko nailed this one. If you had some issues before as well it could easily be your thumb just touching it during recoil. Don't take much and you usually dont even notice it. Every round though I'm again thinking Jocko's got it on this one.

That's the simple and most likely culprit right there.

Well as suspected... you were all correct, that little spring was jammed under the takedown pin, so i removed it bent the spring back up and then put the pin back in heard the "click" and that was the problem.
Thanks guys for the help fixing this!!

and no doubt that it will never happen on YOUR kahr again, as u now know exactly what to look and hear for to. Ur not the first to have done this, so don't feel embarrassed:cheer2:
Now you can send me a check for $20 for this free tip and I will donate it to Taco :cheer2:Bell this weekend.

Funny my friend had the same issue with PM40. I went down to the range to see i could fix the problem because he bought the Kahr on my recomendation. I bent the spring back up, but I told him he should replace it or I would do it for him. I was wondering if the screw that hold the slide lock spring in place is metal and are the threds that hold the screw in, or is it poly. thanks.

Its a metal screw into poly. Best not messed with if at all possible. I wish they had a metal insert for that screw to screw into but alas no so. I'd just be very careful and not overtighten if you need to replace it.

10-4 on that. The best way to screw up the lower frame for sure.
