View Full Version : Can someone with a CM9 and factory 7 round magazine do me a favor?
I just ordered two of the 7 round extended magazines from eBay and 1 standard 6 round one as well, all factory magazines (just cheaper than getting them direct from Kahr)...
Was wondering if someone with the CM9 and the 7 round magazine shown below can post a photo of them combined.

I only ask because I am curious if the base of the magazine is flush or if there is still that awkward 1/8" gap, or if the black plastic base of the 7 rounders 'fix' that.

I tried a 7 rounder in my LGS and it looked like the picture above that "DavidR" posted.

If it bothers you, I have read where some fill that gap with an O-ring. Just make sure it doesn't cause any mag seating, slide lock back, etc. problems.

^^^ this. bought some O-rings at Wally-world for a buck, many different sizes to try until I found one I liked. Doesn't completely solve the problem, but its better.
Why not just paint a fine black line on the magazine just above the plastic piece? It would take away the space visually and eliminate the potential for an O-ring interference.

When I first bought my CM9, it came with a couple of 6 round mags and a 7 rounder. In the end I got rid of the 7 rounder because I just didn't like the looks ... and it didn't work so well anyway. To my mind, if you want a 7 round polymer Kahr, get a CW9, not a CM9 ... and if you need a little extra something to hold on to, then add a Pearce extension onto a 6 round magazine.
P.S. I know you didn't ask, but I'm getting close to top of the 1K posts hill and I want to get over the top.

I can't seem to hit the 1000 mark anymore. Just sayin

Because it pinches a little? My seven round mag is my backup. By the time I empty my six round mag, I need to be a half mile down the road. 'Merica.

Just picked this up so I don't know how it feels to shoot either. Now on my Keltech P3AT there is a huge difference with a grip extension. Follow up shots are easier and gun easier to manage. Always was amazed how much difference just getting that pinky around the gun can make.
6 round Kahr magazine:

Thanks bud, that is exactly what I was looking for. I ordered 2 of the 7 rounders and a 6 rounder, all new factory mags (though got them on ebay for $33/each)... was just curious if they 'looked better'. I didn't want to wait till Thursday to find out :)
Either way, function over fashion. If it works, it works. Just looks a tad tacky, I think. I took a marker and added about 1'4" of a black line to the bottom of my current magazine. Looks a bit better.
A local Indiana company makes these magazine grip extensions:

They look pretty decent... I may have to pick one up now to toss on my 6 rounders for when I go to the range.

Note: I don't plan on carrying the 7 rounders or even the 6 round mags with extensions... they're purely for the range.

I'm happy with the extra 6 rd. magazine. Ater all, that was my main objective when choosing the CM 9.
Slim and very compact size ....

I am of the opinion that the small gap ensures that the mag will lock in. The last thing I want is for the mag to drop out when I need to be shooting:eek:
Just my 2 bits worth :D:D

A few minutes with a sander and a spare Pearce grip made me a nice compromise for a finger extension.

Nice!
My magazines were supposed to be here -yesterday-, but damn eBay sellers are slow. It was -shipped- yesterday. So I guess I'll have to wait till Monday or Tuesday now, and if I get the chance to go shooting this weekend will have to live with 1X 6round factory magazine. :(
Oh well, my Talon grips came in today, and on-time!

Actually my magazines DID come in today, surprisingly, was afraid I'd have to wait until Tuesday like the tracking said I would.
I'm pumped!
EDIT: Photo was taken for another purpose, lighter for scale. :)
