Good Day! Just purchased my first Kahr arms product and I am so happy to have found this site!

Today I got a new P9 with night sights. I can't even describe how good this gun feels in my hand. I have held just about every 9mm legal in MA, and this fits me perfectly. Better than any other as I have smaller hands! Really love the balance and weight. I live about 60 miles from the factory and have always wanted to support Kahr and own one of these beautiful guns.

One of my LGS is selling his store and discounted all his new inventory before the new owners take over next week so the price was crazy good!!!! I mean stupid good. Just practiced the take down and reassembly a few times and now getting ready to clean her up!

Big snow storm here tomorrow so the maiden range trip will have to wait until Friday.

I picked up a couple boxes of Winchester white box 115gr FMJ for the break in period. Anyone have any other recommendations for ammo for this period? Should this be ok? I am mostly a revolver guy, and this is my first striker fired pistol and first foray into the world of 9mm so not very familiar with ammo selection.

Looking forward to spending some serious time on this site learning from all of you. Thanks in advance for the help you are about to provide!

Best,

Hooper

P.S. Don't tell my wife!

Welcome, welcome, welcome ... to Kahrs & to Kahrtalk. You will like your P9 a lot I'm sure. I have a CM9 & an MK9 & an E9 and all are good. A friend has a P9 which I've fired & it is very nice as well. As for ammo, it is usually recommended that you not use reloads or cheap ammo during the break-in period as Kahrs can tend to be finicky until after tey're broken in. After that they will typically eat almost anything.

P.S. You don't happen to remember if the LGS you referred to had any Walther PPK's in their closeout inventory do you?

Welcome to Kahr land! Be sure to read the stickys in the New Member Area sub-forum, especially the prep, lube and video for reassembling (rear part of slide stop goes UNDER the tiny spring).

Welcome. I suggest using ammoseek.com and armsbot.com to find the best deal on some 9mm. Have fun with the new toy and report back with a range report.

Welcome . Unless you need to build arm strength don't worry about pre-racking your new kahr. Most of use find they run great from round one. Just cleaner up and run her a little wet at first. You may want to try to find a good grade of 124gr fmj to try encase those 115gr winny's cause any cycling issues in the first 100 rounds.

Hold on tight as many of use found adding something soft and tacky to help with grip control for range trips helps . I cheaped out with some old used free 1.75" inner tube pulled over most of the grip helps but not always needed.

I have not pulled a trigger on the enhanced model with the safety but hears its nice.

Hope ya stay warm up there and good shooting, when you get the chance !
