Reloads in a CW9?

I have a friend who reloads his own 9mm, .40s&w, .38 special and .357 magnum, and has been doing it for years. He recently offered to load up some 9 for my Kahr CW. So my first question is, is anybody here shooting reloads out of their CW9? Should I be shooting reloads out of the Kahr? Anybody have a recipe that works safely? Thanks.

Personally, I don't shoot ANY reloads in ANY of my firearms..................I don't care if my mother reloaded them. Just me. It ain't worth what COULD happen.

I would shoot my reloads any day of the week, but I would not shoot ur reloads any day of the week. My mother got pissed at me a few times so no douvbt I would not shoot her reloads either. Just sayin

There is nuttin wrong in shooting reloads, at one time it was very very cheap to shoot reloads. Today it is getting close to a wash between some of the lower priced reange fodder and reloads, not counting the time etc, but also some people like to roll their own cigaretts to, so I guess,,,, each to his own.

All I shoot is reloads. I use them in my CW45 and CM9. Also, in my M&P 40/9, Taurus, Henry, etc. They are my reloads so I know the load so I trust them. You would need to be real confident that your friends reloads are OK.

I believe your manual says not to shoot reloads. So it would void your warranty. I don't shoot reloads in my Kahrs because they are my carry guns and I don't want to risk any issues. But I shoot Summit (brand) reloads in my other pistols and revolvers with no issues. I've been procrastinating but plan to start reloading 40sw, 38sp and 357mag soon. Have your buddy send me his recipes if he doesn't mind.

I would bet no manual will tellyou to shoot reloads and it be covered under warranty. It is a company CYA thing

My buddies that don't reload give me all their brass...Strangers at the range who don't reload let me pick up their brass....
With free brass, my ammo cost is about 25% or less the cost of new ammo...:D

I use reloads in all my stuff, because I reloaded it myself and know it is good.
Besides, it's fun. I sometimes go to the range just to empty some cases, so I can load them again...;)

I also cast my own bullets for all of them.
We have eight 9mms in the family that shoot cast bullets. Five of them are Kahrs, two are Glocks, and one is a 1911

can that be, we don't even know what ur opinion was Rev. Not sure anyone here is out to prove anyone wrong either. People been reloading for many years, I personally see nuttin wrong in reloading. When I was doin alot of dove hunting and skeet shooting reloading was a must. When it got exensive to buy shot etc, I just giveit up. Got older to and shot less to.:Amflag2:

Yeah Rev. Don't clam up on us now. I personally look forward to your insights. You tend to take a step back and speak from a clearer perspective. In contrast, I tend to step right into it.

As one of many reloaders here. I can tell you we have ammo while you run to wally world to get lucky.
I shoot my reloads, but wouldn't shoot someone else's so readily. But most reloaders are sitting on thousands of rounds and that beats playing hide and go seek!
You got to know your limitations about your ability to reload, I'm good with mine.

OK ... here goes. I don't reload, but at the range I use 9mm reloads from a friend. My MK9, CM9 & E9 all seem to have no problem with them. Once in a while I might get a jam, but so what. You can't expect 100% perfection in a broken, fallen world. I have never lived my life by worrying about what might go wrong. On August 19, 1991, I landed in Moscow for the very first time in my life. I woke up the next morning to discover "the coup" had taken place. I had an absolute ball for the next three weeks watching the Communist Party fall apart and be closed down. Life is too full of good things to enjoy to worry about whether a reload might go bad or not.

Hey mr. jg,

What do you cast for the Kahr's (metal and mold) and what sizer die do you use? I tried cast in my cm9 and cw45 and ended up leading up both barrels. cm9 was at about 700 rounds, the cw45 was just over 100. Cleaning was an angry female dog of a job.

I've switched to plated for now, but I like casting and I run a lot of 200gr swc's (lyman, wheel weights) through my 1911's with no leading, and a lot of 158 swc's (lyman again, same wheel weights) through my .38's with no leading.
