just ordered a new P45 all black no night sights. Should ship Wednesday and my ffl will probably have it Thursday or Friday. Then I have the 10 day jail time here in kalifornia. Hope she is a good one. I will do the usual break in procedure per the sticky posted her on the forum. Reading here about the P series having some trig bar/cam issues is a little disturbing.
After spending a lot of time with my 1911 and then switching to my other carry gun(Karh P40) and not hitting anything remotely in sight, I realized that I need to have both weapon systems with the same trigger type if I want to switch calibers/guns for carry. Going from the 1911 type to a long DA aint good for me. So I will have the Kahr in 40 and 45. Then an MP 9 which is a double action type trig. Yes the MP trig is a little diff than the Kahr but in the same ballpark when compared to the 1911.
The 1911 will have to be my IDPA/home def gun and no longer ccw.
For me switching from the two trig types was eye opening--wide opening esp when coming from concealment.

Congrats! I hope you get one that's OK out of the box... beveled "stripper", "notch" for recoil spring, and good trigger bar, or whatever the other problem has been.
After financial reversals starting with the needed replacement of my van's AWD drive train just before Christmas, the holiday travel, and now looking at the tax bill from my unemployed wife's unemployment benefits last year (Which ended at Christmas!), my buying anything I wanted came to an abrupt end. I still shop online for good deals on inventory for our local gun shows and continue paying those off before interest is charged.
The P45 is a great platform and adapting 1911 O-6... or even O-7 mags... Officer's 7-round... to give real flush-fitting mags with an extra round is a great prospect. Now, if only Trijicon would make the HD NS for Kahrs, I could get my "dream Kahr".

funny you mentioned sights. I am already think them. I thought I loved the TruGlos on my 1911 and MPbut they are not holding up well. Same with the Williams FO sights on my P40. Actually the P40 has seen a lot of training time and Williams have held up better than the TruGlos. So now I am thinking of no FOs anymore and going Big Dot but I am worried that the PJ holster for my P40 will not accommodate the size of the Big Dot. Wow I hope these are the only problems I have in life....

I'm still not happy with my now BIG DOT FS and normal rear Trijicons on my Mag-na-ported P40. For close shooting my P40 is okay, but I still haven't "mastered" this combination, though I do like it better than with the Low Vee NS.
I really, really want some HD NS with the yellow FS... as I put on my XD45 Tactical... now replaced by G21 SF with the HD NS Yellow FS.

Plus the same manual of arms (i.e. no thumb safety). IMHO, very important for us civilians having more than one carry piece and can't train like someone who carries for duty.

lots of abbreviations. Can you help me out with links so I know where you are with which sight? Why no joy with the big dots?
How do the trig dif from the truglos?
Thanks.

never mind. Figured it all out and answered by questions.
Seems Kahr has only the "smaller" big dot available for its models and not the "oversized one. Which dot do you have?
