I'd like to hear from anyone who has a Covert. What need does it fit for you? If you have a PM/CM, do you carry the Covert or the shorter guns? How is the balance? Were there any issues to look for in the Covert? Thanks!

I have a K40 Covert that I simply love. I didn't have a particular need at the time I bought it, but I loved the quality of the build and the balance in my hands. I knew it was going to be a keeper and it is. I think it is fun to shoot as well. A firm grip is always important with a .40 S&W handgun.
My particular Covert has no issues thus far. It has about 500 rounds through it with nothing wrong to even mention. I love mine.
If you are looking for one, good luck to you and happy hunting.

This is easier and you don't give up any capacity!

I've been using a P9 Covert as my off duty gun for the last ten years. The shorter grip makes it much less likely to print under a light shirt and it is still very controllable in 9mm (with a slip on rubber grip cover). I have yet to find a better balance of size and power. The longer slide of the Covert helps make the gun more reliable and actually helps keep the gun in your pants if you carry inside the waistband as I do.

Wynn...I'm not sure I am following your post. I went to the links, but it looks like you are replacing the baseplate. How does that impact capacity? Sorry, but I'm slow.

Probably what kille dthe P9 covert was the advent of the PM and cm9 models.

If you chop the grip to make a "covert", you give up a round of capacity. I made the grip a bit more concealable by getting rid of the non-flush polymer base. The Black Metal Base KITS are just $12.99 now and the O-rings are about $2 for 10.
I really like the P-model size. The grip is perfect and I don't need the pinky thing!
I carry the flushest mag installed for CCW, but carry the largest capacity for a reload.

Thanks, Wyn. I am following you now. I have 2 CM9s that I have customized to look like black PM9s. Maybe I will get my hands on a P9 to see how I like the feel.

I've had my P9Covert new since born on date 9/4/01 and really like it and it has been flawless in every respect. I've carried it since then IWB, ankle, pocket, etc.
I live in Florida now and pocket carry 90 % of the time. I bought a CM9 in October and now carry it most of the time. Just that 1/2 inch shorter slide seems to make a big difference in my right front pocket.
I have two Glocks, XDS, XDM, Two J-frames, Public Defender, CM9, and CW380 but I'll never sell my P9C.
Good Luck.

I have a CW9 covertcustom by me. My reasons were I wanted the shorter grip for less printing and the longer slide iwb. I put 500 rnds prior to the cutting and have another 1000 since. The gun is slightly mor muzzle heavy than either the cm or pm9. Works for me. Good luck.

I ended up staying out of the deal on the Covert, but will still be looking. The seller wanted too much for it. Thanks for the feedback.
