No earth-shattering stuff here, just wanted to share my day:
Dont know about you guys but every now and then I have the unexpected pleasure of meeting an individual that appreciates firearms the way I do (other than here at kahrtalk that is :) ). After being overheard admitting to owning firearms one time by an open-minded all-accepting liberal colleague, who then proceeded to add her unsolicited opinion to my conversation I was having with a friend, subsequently calling me a caveman and blaming "my kind" for school shootings and dead children, I have since become more mindful about discussing firearms and my thoughts on matters associated. I dont give a hoot about what other people think, just dont need the aggravation.
I have since started a new job, and today coming into work, during a chat with one of my new coworkers, I let slip that I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the range this weekend. Since golf season in nowhere near starting here in Ohio, for a moment I wasnt sure about what response to expect. The guy stops, looks at me with a huge smile and a twinkle in his eye and says "So you're a shooter eh? Good, there's a bunch of us here". We proceeded to talk shop for quite a while, got some great tips on ammo and gunshows; needless to say a great way to start the week. Im going to like working at this place :)

Hope you all have a great day, and good shootin!!

Tom

Thanks Tom. It's been a little heavy around here lately. Glad to hear some heartwarming stuff.

That is very nice, Tom. A little personal interest story is much needed on Kahrtalk and in life. It is kind of like a military home coming videos. Puts a smile on your face. I sold a M&P 15-22 to a guy tonight for a fair price, and he was super excited. That was fun to see.

Tim, you should have corrected "Miss Fitz" by telling her that you are the kind of neanderthal that protects helpless women and children.

Thanks b4uqzme, itsthelaw and bob98366 for the kind replies.

I thought about it Muggsy, but I figured I wasn't going to be able to change her mind, just like she wasn't going to be able to change mine ;)

Mr Surevyor, Ive wasted quite a few hours of my life at the driving range before I realized I did much better at the shooting range :)

Welcome to Kahrtalk tjm....Glad your new job has a better class of people there that you can connect with....I am lucky too that there are several gun guys here at my work who like to jaw about shooting and hunting....What you are talking about is called "The Gun Culture"....Just because someone respects guns, loves to shoot guns, practices and teaches gun safety and talks about the shooting sports doesn't make them a "Gun Nut" but a member of "The Gun Culture" and we a good bunch of people....

Example, I was at a gun show a while back and as I was leaving I passed a reloading booth and the guy had one .380 die set left and I really wanted one but he had already packed up his credit card machine and was about ready to go but when he saw I wanted that die set he handed it to me with his business card and said just sent me a check next week and went back to packing up...Now I ask you what other merchant would do something like that? I sent him his money on Monday just like he knew I would because we are part of "The Gun Culture" ....

Again welcome aboard to the best gun forum on the web...:yo:

Well said. Indeed, most of the "gun culture members" (I like that phrase) I've had the pleasure of meeting were smart, confident, and respectable individuals, sharing a mutual disdain for stupidity.
