Still cant find a pm9 in mass! Gonna take a ride to a dealer today that claims they can get em but have to pay to get on "list." Anybody have luck in mass or know where to get one?

I tried for two months to get a CW9 in Maryland. Tried lots of different outlets. No luck. A couple of the dealers were kind enough to share the distributors' status with me and they all had zero inventory too. I finally gave up and got a used CW9.

I think Kahr has a supply/demand issue they need to work through...

Collectors in Stoneham says they have 4 with night sights and 1 without. Or at least their web inventory says they do. I bought my Seecamp there and the prices always seem competitive. If I had to guess, I'd say about $850 with nights and $760 without.

Did they have the Mass compliant one? I checked there when I saw the original post and I didn't see one. I think he has to have the added little thumb safety and a whole bunch of writing and warnings. I hope your right and they have some. A lot of people will be very happy if they do.

Heck guys I found a bunch of them last weekend in Florida. Most places want list pricing, but I got mine standard model sights in stainless steel for less than $ 605.00 out the door, that included 7% Florida Sales tax and a $ 5.00 background check fee. IF it doesn't have to be MA compliant, but the store I got it from must of had at least ten of them including night sights and DLC finishes available.
I did have to drive 90 miles from my home to the East Coast of Florida to get that deal but I saved over $ 220.00 in the process. This Gun Shop does alot of Kahr Sales and is authorized to do minor smithing work on Kahrs in house. They also give a lifetime garranty to boot on them to the original owner. Just can't beat that! :D The gun shop has a web site and will ship orders to another FFL, all you have to do is send them a Fax copy of you local dealer to receive the gun and pay your dealer a small fee and a $ 10.00 shipping fee{Transfer fee from $25.00- $ 35.00}
Just Google B&H Gun Rack in Merritt Island, Florida and they can hook you up.

I have bought several Kahrs from them and I am quite happy I did.

Yes, our socialist overlords in MA require useless safeties and literature in order to sell new weapons through an FFL. Now, if you can find a private party living in MA with the weapon you want, that's a totally different story. :D

Found this one currently on gunbroker but unless it comes with a lifetime supply of ammo the guy likes it way too much. The search continues.

just went to a dealer who had one on display but would only take a deposit for one when his next order comes in. Needless to say after finally handling a pm9 i plopped down the $100 with the hopes of it coming in soon. We'll see. Im on the "waiting list" with three other shops too but this was 1st place ive even seen one in person so i felt ok with the deposit. A friend came along just for the ride & he put a deposit as well and another customer who was looking at a pps saw us & went for the pm9 deposit instead! 3 guns in 5 minutes = not too bad.

the writing and chambered round indicator actually dont look nearly as bad in person as they do in photos. as far as the safety goes it was a feature my friend and the other guy who bought one liked over the pps without a safety. both are newbie carriers & are afraid to shoot their d*ck off.. lol. the safety slides up very smoothly and because of it they were allowed to use a lighter & smoother trigger pull.

AFVet

I was actually concerned the chambered round indicator would be distracting, but it doesn't stick up enough to be visible when shooting.

I would have no issue with the chambered round indicator, I actually kind of like those myself. I could do without all the writing and the manual safety isn't asthetically pleasing to me but if it means owning one or not owning one I could live with it. I sure wouldn't give an inch in Mass. You got more than enough insane laws there. Things have got to get better for ya, can't get much worse. We're routing for ya.

Tell me about it. I give big props to Kahr for putting up with the morass of insane MA laws to give us a sweet little gun. Most manufacturers have abandoned the MA market. I'm really rooting for Kahr to do well in the hopes they'll offer more.

Hopefully Kahr will do well there but more importantly hopefully people in Mass will remember them when you clean out your state government and do away with the insanity. Maybe CA will drop off at the fault line, then we can work on national gun laws or lack there of all together. Keep all the common sense guns laws, (there must be at least 1) and pickle the rest.
I'm glad Kahr went to the effort in your behalf and hopefully they'll come out with a few more models to hold you folks over.

its a pretty sad situation we have here but we do have Gun Owners Action League for mass (Gun Owners' Action League - GOAL.org - "Protecting Your Freedom Begins Here" (http://www.goal.org)) and support for gun rights is becoming more and more widespread. hopefully things will get better. its good to see a local company like kahr building a great product for us. hope to see more products that fit mass requirements. we have alot of good manufacturers in new england and its a shame that a handful of liberals make it so we cant purchase their products. i'd love to see that p380 approved but i should worry about getting my pm9 1st...

Good luck, Josh. I hope that you luck out. With all of the irons Kahr has in the fire, demand is probably going to exceed supply for a long time. People snap up items like that and mark them up like scalpers with tickets.

thanks wyn. my friend called every dealer listed on kahrs site for mass & most of them had at least 1 in stock. mostly the night site versions for $850+ which i cant justify spending seeing my glock was $499. they all said that orders are now coming in more regularly so hopefully the factory will keep pumping these out to us. its soo frustrating that i can drive 10 minutes to karhs front door but cant get their products for 6+ months now...

wyntrout
06-04-2010, 12:43 PM
Yes, I can see that's very frustrating. It would be nice if they could help the local community get their products!
That's about what I paid for my PM45 DLC with N/S shipped to my FFL dealer. And that included an extra magazine (6-round with extended grip) AND a Kahr cap. This was my long-time dream gun, though. It retails for $1022 without the third magazine.
Kahr having to re-tool to make all of these "state-compliant" guns, takes away from producing the other models and low supply and high demand will hurt all of us... just like the designer gas formulas required all over the country cause higher prices and shortages as they shift blends to take care of whimsical state and local special formulations.
Again, good luck. I hope your wait is a short one, AND you get one they QC'd properly.
I need to get a letter and pictures off to Ian at Kahr Customer Service about my P380, and a possible second trip to the mothership.
Take care and stay optimistic.

I bought a PM9 without nightsights at Bob's Original Indoor Shooting Range in Salisbury, MA for $755, 2 or 3 weeks ago. They had one left after mine, with nightsights (about $100 more), and my shooting buddy bought it. You might want to give them a call to see when they expect more in

This is the only compliant gun on gunbroker right now and with a buy now of over 1,000 I suspect his reserve will be way beyond reasonable. Just wanted you to know we're looking for you. I'm the king of all things impatient and I hate to see you sitting on a waiting list.
In your place I'd probably camp out on Kahrs front steps and grab an employee as he leaves and see if he can grease the skids for ya. Heck I'd probably try to get on as a custodian or something so I could get an employee discount. If you do that and it works remember who your best friend is. It's spelled Bawanna and he thinks you da man!

I feel your pain! I'm in TX so the safety is not a legal requirement but is a marital requirement. My wife wont let me carry a gun w/o a safety :o. I have been looking for a 9193 for several months.

Bud's had the PM9193N (ext safety + night sights) in stock for $830 for about 3 hours this morning. I registered for the "notify me when it comes in" thing about a month ago. Got the email at 9am. Order completed at 9:30am. Sold out again by noon :(.

The good news..... my wait is over! :) PM9193N is on the way.

My advice - register on all of the gun sites for that "let me know when you get one" feature and then be prepared to pounce when you get the email.

thanks every1. max, i called bobs & they were sold out but are expecting more. The price i got for the pm9 with standard sights i have on deposit is $735 cash. how do you like the pm9? lol on workin for kahr bawanna. i called them & they wont let anyone in their facility. we arent even allowed to drop a gun off there for service, it has to be shipped. jocko, my buddy fell for the pm9 because of the external safety. we went to the gun shop to pick up a new walther pps for him & so i could check out the pm9 & he instantly jumped on the kahr bandwagon. the trigger pull & feel of the kahr is superior. all that being said i am headed to springfield gun show as soon as i get out of work today. we'll see what happens

I've put a little over 100 rounds through my pm9 so far, using the cheap Federal stuff from Walmart. Haven't had a bit of trouble. Followed the video on the Kahr website for disassembling and cleaning. Had a little trouble getting the slide pin in correctly - (if you can't rack the slide, you know it's not in the right positon) just took a little lining up to correct it. Bought a highnoon iwb holster, 'Split Decision' for under $40 shipped. I'm very happy with it.

I shot my friend's pm9 with Corbon hollow points - VERY big kick with those.
Good luck - I think you'll be happy with it when you finally get one.

Actually, I wouldn't mind having a Kahr with a manual safety. I'm not giving up my CW9 or Pm45 to get one, but safeties are fairly rare on modern pistols. I'm used to them because my first pistol was a Hi-Power, and I shot a 1911 on a team in the 60's and 70's. My first gun w/o a safety was a SIG in the 80's, and I had been shooting for over 20 years at that point. The oldest design of my 8 active pistols was the mid-90's, so only 3 have safeties. [I don't count the grip safety on my XD 45 but I like having it] I still swipe off the thumb safety on my non-so equipped guns before I shoot.

Great guy & Def. gonna do more business with him. Only bad news is my friend had to watch me buy the only one he had :-( but he's gonna call when he gets another. Congratulations, Josh. I went to the local show here yesterday and kept an eye out for one of those. I didn't see any Kahrs with safeties, nor very many Kahrs. The PM9s were running about $780 plain SS slide with NS and $800 DLC, no NS. I saw one P9 DLC for $800. CWs were $450 to $500. SS slide (no DLC) P380s were $630. Of course, dickering for discounts was in effect.:D
I only sold one box of ammo and bought some "lint-free" patches for cleaning... pretty disappointing show for me.

But John Kerry is a "War Hero", if you ask him. I wish they would release his REAL military records... he must have gotten some kind of slap on the wrist for dashing off to Paris to help the North Vietnamese as a "useful idiot" and TRAITOR... considering he was still "in the Navy" and his actions were completely unauthorized and detrimental to US negotiations with our enemies. He got all of that expunged or buried. Being a US Senator helps with stuff like that.
Thank God and the Vets who kept HIM from becoming our president.
