ALERT/Action Required
March 2, 2014
Reminder
Assembly Bill A2006, the 10-Round Magazine Limit Bill, is scheduled to be heard before the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee tomorrow, Monday, March 3, 2014, at 1:00pm.
Additionally, A2777 will also be introduced. This bill defines reasonable deviations in the course of transporting firearms. The bill has been amended substantially from last year’s version, without input from the firearms community, and has the potential for grave negative consequences for firearms owners in this State. According to an ANJRPC ALERT:
It limits reasonable deviations
"to only what is in a list of acceptable deviations, and removes judicial discretion to resolve other circumstances, which means law-abiding gun owners will go to prison if their stop does not fit into the poorly-crafted list".
The ANJRPC ALERT goes on to say:
"The list could represent a small, incremental improvement over current law if judicial discretion to resolve additional unforseen circumstances were retained. Until it does, it cannot be regarded as an improvement and it should be opposed if it is not amended - and the following simple, single word change would restore judicial discretion in unforeseen circumstances":
For the purposes of this section, "deviations as are reasonably necessary" means includes collecting and discharging passengers whose transportation is permitted under paragraph (2) of subsection b., subsection e., or paragraph (1) or (3) of subsection f. of this section, purchasing fuel, using a restroom, and contending with an emergency situation. A person transporting a weapon pursuant to this subsection shall comply with all other applicable State laws relating to weapons.
If you are able to attend in person, you are encouraged to do so. Additionally, please take the time to contact the Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee Members listed below and express your opposition to this bill and all further gun control measures.
Location: The State House Annex, West State Street, Trenton, Committee Room 12 , 4th floor (subject to change)
When: Monday, March 3, 2014 at 1:00pm
Please note: It is unknown how pending inclement weather will affect this hearing, if at all. At this point, it is scheduled to continue as announced. If we learn of any changes, updates or cancellations, we will notify you via e-mail alert and Facebook postings.

The wording as it stands is Unacceptable please change it, as outlined!
Also There is No documented evidence that 15 round magazines vs 10 round magazines had ANT effect on shooting whatsoever. In fact limiting rounds has a reverse effect when home invasions are concerned. Home invasions are the #1 crime increase in the country and NJ.
Magazine rounds have Nothing to do with hunting, nor are there any provisions in the US Constitution, 2nd amendment, that references capacity. It does guarantee the inalienable right for ALL citizens the right to defend/protect themselves, anywhere, anytime. New Jersey fails to follow that, hence the undefended deaths in our cities, by unlicensed guns and Street Gangs.
Sincerely,
March 2, 2014
