Hey guys, just recently picked up a CW9 to be my CCW. So far I've put around 150rds through her without a single malfunction, 3 different types of ammo, 3 different weights, with one of them being HP's. Love the pistol. I picked up an extra mag, put the rubber Talon grips on, and polished my barrel after seeing a few posts on here. I don't have any pictures worthy of uploading currently, but I'll get some tomorrow.
I'm 24, served four years in the Marine Corps(:Amflag2:) as a LAAD gunner, now I'm currently going to Iowa State for industrial design.
Also, If anyone is from central Iowa and could point me to some decent places to go shooting, that'd be much appreciated.
Thanks, see ya around.

Welcome aboard Marine, we have a few here and always room for another. Thank you for your service.
Glad your CW9 and you are getting along so well. I'll have to bow to others as I've never been to Iowa but I'm sure we got some folks from there here somewhere.
Glad you found us, I think you'll like it here.
I know I'm gonna look dumb in front of the gang and I'm already embarrassed about it but what is an LAAD? I mean I know, I'm just sure some of the others are seeking an explanation.:lie:

7212-Low Altitude Air Defense. (LAAD). Basically we fired the Stinger Missile system which is a man-portable, surface-to-air missile at enemy aircraft or drones. Which sounds cool and all, but the Taliban doesn't have any aircraft.

I don't know how this barrel polishing craze got started, but Kahr Arms goes out of their way to plate those barrels and you guys are polishing off all of their hard work. To what end? The barrel is hidden by the slide, but for a fraction of a second when the gun is fired and no one is payin' any attention to the barrel at that point. I don't know. Maybe I just getting senile in my old age. I just don't get it. I'm living in a world that I don't understand.

I predate you a bit. My Army MOS in the 70's was the Redeye shoulder fired missile. It was replaced by the Stinger. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome Marine! Don't worry about muggsy...it's just cold here in Ohio and we're getting pretty grumpy about it.
Hey muggs. That's a really good looking fraction of a second when our polished barrels are exposed. Just sayin'.

Well, I used the term barrel as a sort of blanket term to include the chamber housing as well. So you get to see that constantly. And it offers a nice contrast whereas the matte nickle just didn't match the stainless and looked out of place IMO.

Ahh, the old redeye. You guys were called ADA , right? Back in that era I'm pretty sure the marine variant was called LAAM. Our schoolhouse used to be in Ft. Bliss where there were a bunch of ADA guys as well. Only Marines on the base.

Yeah, but you're young and can handle it. My aged bones are creaking. And I'm spending WAY too much time indoors with Mrs. b4uqzme. She gave me a Disney t-shirt with the character "Grumpy" on it. I told her; "Honey, you are my inspiration".
Again, welcome!

This was the only half-way decent shot I got. I took them with my iPhone. Blegh.
(Also, the black dot on the spare mag is so I know that it is the new mag. I haven't used it yet, so if I have any issues with magazines, I can determine which is which)
EDIT:Wow. That's an awful picture. lol.
