I guess I'm good with the HST 147 gr. JHP's.

I use the Gold dot 124 gr. JHP's. Is there a noticable difference between the 124's and the 147 grains?

Not really...........I just like a heavier bullet for defense.
Personally, I feel no difference between 124+p and 147gr. Gold Dots.
I like and use them both.
I guess I'm good with the HST 147 gr. JHP's.
HST 147's have now been tested too...

In our experience the 147s have a softer felt recoil for follow up shots, because of being slower and heavier. It's more of a push instead of a snap.
But shot placement is the key
After much testing we settled on these for our K9s

I suggest reading posts by Dr. Gary Roberts and other experts in the field of ballistics.

Federal 147 grain HST is my normal carry load and has been for sometime. It works great in short barrels too.
FYI...Gold Dot 147 and 115 tested :)
And..look out for ol' WWB ;)

Do you folks notice a difference in point of aim between the 124 gr. and the
147 gr. ?
I've read that there is a difference but I haven't tested it myself.
I carry Fed HST in all the guns except for the Boberg. The Boberg seems to like Hornady Critical duty the best.

Obviously, I'll continue my search for the best round for the Boberg.
The reason I don't use the Fed HST in it the Boberg is that once in awhile it doesn't feed well.

@ 5-7 yards...I have not noticed a difference in 124+p and 147 Gold Dot in the PM9 or CM9.

have to agree with rubb, but I don't shoot 147 ammo anymore. so many great 124 gr defense rounds that I feel I have better choices. Not sur ethge bad guy will notice 23 grains difference-=- he might but I doubt it. Best not to have him able to ever give an opinion either, so give him the full magazine whether he is standing or laying their looking at u. I have yet ever heard of a dead mans testimony. Just sayin
