I have a chance to trade a Taurus PT 1911 45acp for an Auto Ordanance 1911 in 38super. I have always wanted a 38 super but know nothing about AO guns. The Taurus runs flawlessly and is accurate to boot with my hand loads. What are your expierience's with AO 1911's. It is a newer production gun. The internet is full of a lot of bad stories with these guns. Thanks

The internet is full of a lot of bad stories with these (AO) guns.

I rearranged the order of your statements. I know nothing about AO guns either, but I know what I would decide, based on the information you provided.

I would end up with the pistol that has the highest resale value of the two.

I'd sell it, and buy a .38 Super of higher quality, from a more sought after manufacturer.

I'd not be too concerned about the AO. I suspect they are better these days.
I know nothing about 38 super. I still want one but I'm not even sure why.
