My wife picked up her new R51 for me to break in !! It been broke down cleaned and lubed and I ran with one of our girls a few mags thru it at home. No range here. Works well. You really can cycle the slide with one finger. Recoil is more like a 9mm 1911 . Trigger is not as light as I like but at 6lbs + or - 4oz it works well. It does have some take up, about 3/16th " and a little short of a 1/8th " of movement before the trigger breaks. Reset is very lite and I found I can feel it more with my weak hand but once I "found it" it you can pick up on it. Just move it out about 5/16' and it will be reset and does have a lite no sound click just a feel. It is easier to shoot better than my cw9. It is also the same length from the grip to the end of the barrel so the extra 1/2 inch is at the butt end of the slide. Nice fit and finish on it too.

Couple crappy photos. I have no camera skills.

That sounds super. I think the gals at my house would like the easy to manipulate slide.

congrats --- been waiting for one to show up around here. Mrs. b4uqzme wants to try it out. If she can rack it and manipute (understand) the controls, she'll be wanting one for sure. Recoil is no worse than a Kahr? Are you OK with the single action/grip safety combo?

Thanks!!

hardluk, keep us informed on how the gun performs.
reliability, accuracy, ease of operation (mag changes, cleaning etc) and the break in process.
Thanks

Way lighter than my cw9 even with 115gr Georgia arms ammo. I really like'n it to a buddys 1911 9mm and his soft match ammo. I was using underwoond 124gr +P ammo in the R51 when I wrote up the early view of it. My wife and I did walk out after dinner and fired a couple more mags with the GA 115gr reloads and its way easier for me to shoot it one handed and feels like it shoots very soft with that standard pressure ammo . The Checkering on the front of the grip is very crisp on the skin along with the dimpled pattern on the grip panels. I'm use to a inner tube on my kahrs. !! I'll have to see what my wife thinks about it and dress it how she wants it. Range break in might get a piece of innertube on the grip just for breakin and my old softy hands. It will keep the safety tripped but I won't be there to play around , just to burn ammo.

Up date- sitting around last night racking and pulling the trigger I switched hands to weak side and there it was?? The trigger does have a reset but it is a lite click that you feel. No sound that I can hear. A younger shooter or one that did not abuse there hearing so much may hear a click too.

Back from the range . 200 rounds fired in 30 minutes before I started to loose some control and start getting fliers so I stopped. No problems , pistol functions fine . Easy to shoot well .

Just saw on another forum, the R51 already has a recall :(Heard one dealer report of returning 5 of 6 as not suitable for sale as cycling them was scraping off frame material in hand racking them in the store.

I also saw one impressive video.

Still curious

Would you show the recall notice?? Not the message of one. I looked , can't find one.
