New out of the box and I cleaning my gun for the first time. I am reassembling and the slide will not return all the way back. I am sure it is user error, but I have followed the instructions and watched the videos, and suggestions?

Found the problem! The recoil spring guide was catching the inside of the slide and had to be guided thru the hole. Seems simple but I was so worried about something out of alignment within the slide or frame that I wasn't paying attention the the guide.

u might take a few minutes and on the kahr tech section is two great stickys. KAHR LUBE CHART and PROPPER PREPPING OF UR KAHR. there are some tips there to check out to be sure all is well with the gun etc. Take ur time with range sessions. IMO keep ur shooting sessions under 100 rounds. A shooter gets tired and doesn't know it and then things start to happen. :" grip changes, etc, and then the gun acts up and it gets blamed etc.
A gun and shooter have to mate up togethger to be reliable.. Good forum here thesde guys will help u all they can, and when they can't just ask ol jocko. Just sayin

I'm not an expert yet, but that's just because I haven't had enough time to make as many mistakes as some of the others guys here. But we've all pretty much been there and done that.

I thought that I had made a mistake once Rev, but I was wrong. :)

I did the exact same thing....when the slide wouldn't go back on I started trouble shooting by taking the barrel and recoil rod/spring out. The slide went on no problem. I put the barrel back in and the slide went on no problem. Put the whole thing back together and the slide wouldn't go on. At that point I knew it was a recoil rod issue so I took a close look at it and found that it wasn't seated properly. As soon as I seated it I didn't have any more problems.
