Gotta Love Texas!

***The City of Dallas, Texas passed an ordinance
Stating that if a driver is pulled over by law enforcement
And is not able to provide proof of Insurance, the car is towed.

To retrieve the car after being impounded, they must show
Proof of insurance to have the car released. This has made
It easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars.
Shortly after the "No Insurance" ordinance was passed,
The Dallas impound lots began to fill up and were full
After only nine days.
Over 80% of the impounded cars were driven by illegals.
Now, not only must they provide proof of insurance to
Have their car released, they have to pay for the cost of the tow,
A *$350 fine, and *$20 for every day their car is kept
In the lot.

Guess what?
Accident rates have gone down *47% and Dallas ' solution
Gets uninsured drivers off the road *WITHOUT* making
Them show proof of nationality.

I Wonder how the
Holder's US Justice Department
Will get around this one.
* * * * *
** Just brings tears to your eyes doesn't it? **

*** GO Dallas ***
AMEN TO THAT
I can't stop smiling!

Have they finished find out what's in Ovomitcare yet now that it was voted in? Maybe there's coverage in there. Only for illegals that is.

I'm not one that necessarily supports a lot of new laws and ordinances (we got way too many already) but that's one I really like.

Not to mention drug screening for anyone on public assistance.

I don't live in Dallas, but live close enough that the Dallas television stations are my "local" news sources. Sure would like to know where you got your stats, especially that 80% illegal part and the one about reduced accident rates. Dallas has had that ordinance for about 5 years now, but I don't think those statistics are accurate. Sounds like Internet bs to this Texan...

That's racist and biased, so I am told....

It probably is BS but it's feel good, I guess.;)

I am sorry but anyone who thinks that drug screening shouldn't happen in order to get food stamps needs to have their head examined.

That used to be the statement from Aggie fans to U.T. fans.... "the only things in Austin are steers and queers, and I don't see yer horns"

For all us law abiding folks. This video explains how you can get out of a traffic ticket in Texas. May apply to other states, but he is specifically talking about Texas.
For the most part it explains that most of the traffic laws only apply to commercial vehicles, and other things that can help you fight a ticket in court. The Govt. counts on you not willing to take the time off work to fight the ticket, so they make the fine low enough to be affordable, yet high enough to be a little painful.

I completely agree with impounding non-insured vehicles. If the owners do not claim them crush them no matter if their is a lien or not. that would stop folks from selling to illegals. Every hear the term A Small Town in Texas???

Mandatory, on-the-spot, paper proof of insurance or tow is fascist.

Okay so they tow away vehicles for no insurance, but it doesn't even matter. The illegal will go to a hole in the wall place and get insurance and pay the $59-69 for insurance and be on their merry way. Most of those places don't require a valid drivers license. And you want to know where the cars are coming from? "In house financing" that don't legally require you to have a drivers license to buy a car. It's complete and utter bullshit and makes absolute nonsense. That's the Texas way.

TMan,

Sorry, but I gotta call BS on this. Just cause you saw it on Infowars don't make it so. The traffic laws in Texas apply equally to private vehicles as well as commercial. I've lived all of my 49 years in the Lone Star state, and that is simply not true.
