Finally got a chance to go to the range after picking up my CM40 a couple of weeks ago. Put 60 rounds through the gun and am extremely happy with my decision to purchase my first Kahr.

Gun was very accurate. First couple of magazines I was shooting low to the left- that was me anticipating. After I got used to the release point I settled in and was pretty accurate for my first time out. Really liked the bar-dot sights and didn't take long to adjust to them. Gun is very accurate.

Recoil was not a problem. I have shot 40's for a number of years but all of my other 40's are full size so was not sure how the recoil would be in a subcompact. Gun absorbs the recoil just fine and was actually a lot of fun to shoot.

Only issue was a couple of misfeeds after the first round on the last two magazines. Magazine follower looks fine and once I cleared the weapon and reloaded, it finished the magazine without an issue. Quite possibly it may have been me limp wristing a couple of shoots. I'll continue to got through the break-in period and see how it does.

All in all very happy so far. Glad to be part of the Kahr family!

Congrats. Such a fine little package of power, ease of concealment, shootability and quality.

As much as I've loved my PM9, I love my PM40 even more.

Follow-up: Put another 100 rounds through the gun with no issues. Really a nice shooting gun. Also installed a Houge Handall Jr. grip which fit great with just a little trimming off the bottom.

That's great!

I think of my PM9 as a "pocket rocket", what does that make the CM40? :)

could be a tired shooter, as a cm40 is certainly a hand cannon. U might want to check the kahr tech section and hit on propper prepping of ur kahr and pay attention t the last paaraph on checking magazine catch possably grabbing the follower at round 2/3.

still a nice report. my bet is a tired shooter.

I agree Jocko. I went through the prep steps from the tech section, which were great, when I brought it home and was pretty comfortable it was ready to go. Based on the fact that I had no issues the 2nd time out I think that is exactly what happened.
