Not new to Kahrs. Have a P9 that I love. Just got a new CM9 and did the prep and lube but I cannot for the life of me get the slide to go back on. It gets to just about the witness marks and won't move any further back. Never had this problem with my P9 and don't think I'm doing anything wrong but the slide will just not move back in place. Any ideas here. The gun being new it's extremely stiff but I expected that.

Try and starting the pin and gently start it in as you push the slide back to where the marks line up. Other possiblities, consider the recoil spring is not positioned well.
You probably have it fixed by now.

Tickle the trigger a little bit as your putting the slide on. I have to do that frequently on my PM45. Once in a while on my K's too.

Well I tickled the trigger numerous times. Gun laughed but no joy either. Tried the reposition of recoil spring several times. It seems now to just get to neutral position and stop. Tickling trigger then to get slide back off works great but still can't get to slide on to rear. Running a +10 on my weird poopometer scale.

Did you try and get the cross pin a 1/4" as you started to push it back toward lining it up.

I have same issue but it goes eventually. My cw40 has no issue like this. Yeah high on poopometer.

Try giving the trigger the finger. That's kinda like tickling it, but with more gusto. A little trigger manipulation will make the slide go a long way. Move the slide back and forth while giving it the finger. Eventually all of the planets will align.

Using the pin while moving slide to rear finally did the trick but still think it was cause I held my mouth just right. What a chore. Much tougher than my P9. Much stiffer spring and harder to move the slide. Guess I expected some of that but boy it's REALLY stiff for these arthritic hands. Now that it's back together, I'm anxious to see how she does at the range on Monday.
Thanks for the help guys, that did the trick. You guys are real fart smellers, sorry I meant smart fellers.

The problem I think is the barrel stays locked in battery instead of dropping down as the slide moves back.

That sounds about right 100percent. I took apart my P9 a little bit ago and I can get the slide further back before I put the pin in place but it's a lot more forgiving also. Gonna shoot this CM9 on Monday and then reclean and see if that's the long term trick for this gun.
Thanks again for all good tips.

Look at the recoil rod, it maybe hitting the lower edge of the frame hole.
