Talk about some good shooting: One of the colleges I attended,
Wichita State University has become the first team in NCAA College Basketball history to go 35-0.
They won easily today beating Cal-Poly 64-37.
They have a lot of boo birds saying that, "they don't play in a tough enough conference" and such, but after a final four appearance last year, losing to the eventual Tournament Champions, Louisville, they are beginning to hush up some of the critics. KU refuses to play them, with all kinds of excuses, but they just don't want to be embarrassed by a mid major school. I don't expect them to have it as easy as they did last year, I think a lot of teams overlooked them or figured them as an easy win, but this year they have a big bulls-eye on their back. No one will be overlooking them this year. And everyone will want to be the team to give them their first loss, and kick them out of the tournament.

Next up is the winner of the K-State vs Kentucky game. I would love to see them rough up Kentucky. I don't really want to see them play K-State since my son went there. They did beat Tennessee, BYU, and Alabama this season.

Thanks for the support. WSU is easily overlooked, but they have a great coach, a good work ethic, and play like a well oiled machine. I too enjoy seeing a mid-major school doing so well, I get so tired of hearing about KU, you'd think they were the only team in the state. And also hearing about all the Big Name Schools, NC, UConn, Syracuse, Florida, Kentucky, and all the others that get most of the press.
The one thing that sucks is if they do well again this year, some school from a bigger conference will "steal" our coach. It happens every time we do well, some bigger conference school will make the coach an offer that is too good to pass up.

Oh my, KU falls to Stanford, boo hoo hoo - NOT. KU is the liberal looneyland. preppyville, and snobbiest college in Kansas, and I'm not sorry to see them go one and done. You may recall they had a professor that wrote a scathing anti-gun article last fall that got a lot of press. Typical of the type of people that attend that school. Liberal know-it-alls. They do have a great program, and great tradition, but bye for this year. I do root for them quite a bit during the regular season playing other Big 12 and Schools from other big conferences. I was very happy to see K-State knock them off in Manhattan KS though.

I also want to congratulate Stephen F Austin, Dayton, North Dakota State, and Harvard. And especially Mercer for sending the mighty Duke packing. I love to see these smaller colleges beat the bigger name schools. Ain't that what March Madness is all about?

I think WSU gave Kentucky about as much as they could deal with today. It went down to the final shot. Oh well, They did make history with a 35-0 season. Losing by 2 to UK is nothing to be ashamed of. Like Jocko said the missed free throws came back to bite them in the butt. Kansas teams had a real crappy year in the NCAA this year, not one of 3 made it past the 2nd round. At least we lost to a well respected team, and gave them about all they could handle. The Shocker fans are still very proud of what the team did this year. On another day it could have went the other way. That's just how it goes.
