My back extractor pin went flying out tonight during disassembly.

If someone ends up taking their slide apart in the near future (or has an extra pin laying around) and has a set of calipers handy would you mind checking the dimensions? Ive got tons of hardened pins at work, but would feel more confident with something as close to factory as possible.

No way im paying 10$ in shipping for a part that costs a buck.

If all else fails, you might try contacting Kahr to see if they have the specs for it.

I'll take mine apart and measure it for you, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to charge you $20.00 for the service. :)

Actually, you have a pin lying around..sorry.
Did you try floating a magnet around?

Another good way of locating a missing pin is to sweep the floor with a broom. If you're a college graduate get someone who didn't graduate from high school to show you how to use it. :)

Heh... tried both of those (magnet and broom)... nada... believe me I turned the room upside down last night.

I think its in one of the cracks in the couch. Two built in recliners and lots of crevices that I cant get into.

Can't help on the pin dimensions, but a good trick when disassembling springy stuff is to do it inside a one gallon zip lock bag.

match up to a drill bit using the front pin.
worked for me.

Thought about it.. but dont want to have to guess on length and whether or not the extractor will function reliabley.

Ten bucks for shipping is a fairly inexpensive lesson. Most of my mistakes have been far more costly. You know, of course, within minutes of ordering one you'll find the one that you lost, probably by sitting or stepping on it. Thus you will add injury to insult. On the plus side, when you do get the new one you won't have to worry about matching it up with one of the pins that you have at work, because you'll have a ready spare. :) (Please note the smiley face. I'm only pulling your chain.)

Hey, no, Im not asking anyone to take their slide apart.

If you happen to be breaking it down for whatever reason (cleaning/polishing/installing spring etc...) and have a set of calipers handy, great!

Likewise if you have a spare laying around for whatever reason.

Im not looking for anyone to go out of their way.

.1523?
