Hello

I have a few questions I was hoping some of you may be able to answer? I have owned a Kahr MK9 for many years. I love the gun has been flawless from day one. Wanted something lighter so natural choice was either a PM9 or CM9. I came across an older Gentleman selling a CM9 LNIB with all the goodies, for a good price so I bought it. Now for the questions, from reading on here it appears the CM9 has a Plastic guide rod. Mine however has a metal guide rod. Also the feed ramp appears to have come with a mirror polished finish. I has spoken to the gentleman I purchased it from, and he is adament that it is all factory original and he has never done a thing to it. A serial number search shows it was made in late 2011. has Kahr made changes to the CM series over the production years? for the record the CM9 has 275 flawless rounds so far (only had it for 2 weeks).

Thanks
Mcklain

Thanks for the reply

From some of the post I read common upgrades people were doing included metal guide rods and polishing the feed ramps. I assumed they did not come that way. I guess we know what assuming can do for you.

I always thoughgt the cm9 had the metal guide rods(called captive guide rods with two springs) exactly like the PM9 did, same length slides and bbls. All kahr feed ramps are highly polished, No change in that precedure that I have noticed. They all look great..

Kahr 005CM9 Recoil Assembly iTS two peace, NEVER was ever one peace. U might be referring to the cw series which is one peace.

I've had mine 2-1/2 years. S/N I018xx. It came with a metal guide rod assy and a polished ramp. Never heard of a plastic guide rod for a CM9.

I think that there may be some confusion here. Please allow me to add to it. The CM9 has a polished feed ramp and a two stage captive recoil spring. The CW9 has a conventional one piece recoil spring. The CM9 is the 6+1 pocket version of the 7+1 CW9. Now, lets all get on the same page.

I guess what probably threw Mcklain off is that his MK9 came with a plastic guide rod. I also did not know that the standard CM9 guide rod is metal. I probably would have thought it was an upgrade too at first.

Learn something every day.

Welcome Mcklain.

My MK had the metal, but it's an older one. For a while, I believe that they were using plastic in the MK's.

right and not sure but I think that MK recxoil assembly is a total captive one to, with no relacement outter spring like tyhe PM and CM kahrs. I might be wrong on that but I think it is a total captive set up.:amflag:

I bought a new CM9 about a month ago, and to me it doesn't look like it has a polished feed ramp?

I just picked up a factory fresh CM9 and the feed ramp has the satin finish of a sand blaster. The ramp is not polished on mine. I think it was something which slipped through QA. I wrote to Kahr to get an answer. My CW9 has a highly polished feed ramp, but the CM...not yet.

Polish the fokker urslef if u feel it needs it. because it has a dull finish does not mean it is not smooth. HAVE U EVEN FIRED IT YET??? Some flitz or fine compound will polish it in 5 minutes. Ur barrel inside and out is nickel plated so it is shinny as a diamond in a goats ass when polished...
