First Shots Fired PM9

Well, I didn't get to go to the range over the Memorial Day weekend so I wnt down today over lunch time to fire my first shots from my new PM9. Had her for a couple of weeks and was getting withdrawal symptoms.

As for the first 60 rounds, (50) PMC ball FMJ followed by (10) 115 grain JHP +P ammo. It didn't seem to matter whether I used the slide stop loading proceedure or hand racking. All rounds were flawless in both feeding and extraction. Of cource I had previously done the complimentary field strip and lube prior to going out.
I found the recoil to be quite manageable, however that being said, my groups were not as good as with my PM45. I beleive that was due to my pinky finger...took a more concertive effort to press the trigger and watch my grip, but still fairly impressive. My last group of six rounds went into the head 2 1/2" group at 21 feet on a reduced E silly target. Thriple tapps were quite exceptable all in the ten ring and one center mass to the head.

I will put another 150 or so through her this weekend.
I recon this one will be a keeper just like my other MK9 and PM45. I had to post this since most times you only hear of the problems and never anything about positive results. :D

We like the good stuff, oh yes we like it. Keep shooting those little guns, those groups will tighten up.

Exactly right DKD, we more often than not hear only about the troubled ones. It appears you have a keeper in your midst. I don't own a PM9 yet but the phenomonal accuracy seems to be standard and included in every range report we see. I suspect the better accuracy with the PM45 could be attributed to wider bullets. Better chance of a hit, maybe not? Hope she keeps up the perfect performance for ya.

Actually Bawanna, I think I shoot my PM45 a bit better because the grip just fits my hands perfectly, supporting all three fingers. My PM45 is a tack driver and just chews up the 10X ring when I do my part at 21-30 feet.

I had a few FTF's with that gun during the first 100 or so rounds, but settled right down after that and has been flawless there after. I am still waiting for my darn pocket holster for my PM45 pocket cannon. Been (3) months now.
In the mean time I'll have to settle on the slightly smaller PM9 for daily pocket carry.

Oh well the sacrifices one has to make...? which mini blaster shall I carry today...? So many guns and so little time.

I do love my PM45 alot too. I was kind of half way yanking your chain with the wide bullet scenario although in my case I'll take every advantage I can get. I'm very satisified with how mine runs for me and it's become a constant companion either alone or with a running mate in my daily travels. They must have some inherit accuracy in them, I'm not a natural good shot but it really makes me look good. It doesn't happen nearly enough but it's nice when you find others at the range standing behind you trying to figure out what the heck your shooting so well with. Many jaws hang down when they see Tiny on the line doing well. Ok usually when my kids shooting it.:2rolleyes:

You have a black one? I can't remember. You went stainless PM45 and Obama on the PM9? I can't believe I just typed that!:eek: I'm gonna go lick the side walls of my tires with my tongue and send a thankyou card to Sheriff Joe in AZ.
I guess I need somebody to copycat, guess your it.
Tell you what, when Jocko buys a 45, I'll buy a PM9, should give me plenty of time to save up some marbles.

I'm going to pose a silly question, understand that I'm not knocking any ones choices, just don't see the logic is all... If you have a 45, why opt for a 9? Even as a playmate, why, the ammo is cheaper, ok I get that, guess I'm just a bit biased in that regard.

I was just humoring Michael. If I got one it would either be Jocko's so I could hang it in the smithsonian as a hysterical piece or one for a wall hanger in my den. I mean, what ya gonna hurt with a 9mm. 22's cheaper yet, if I want to play, I'll take my Smith 41. That ole PM9 is a pretty sweet little gun though and way better than a sack of pebbles and a sling shot.

The only silly thing here is that you are trying to apply rational thinking,
reason, and logic to the condition known as "G.A.S." (Gun Acquisition
Syndrome).

Why add a PM9 if he has a PM45? Well, because it's there to HAD of course:)

Ok, if we absolutely MUST interject a line of rationalization, then how about
this......at some point when the zombies overrun civilization as we
know it, there's the real possibility that Bawanna will have exhausted his
currently ample hoard of 45 ACP and won't be able to crank out enough
reloads to keep the undead at bay......luckily he had the foresight to
diversify his caliber holdings when it was still possible to do so and he was
able put his PM9 into play.....thus surviving to fight another day.......:D

Ahhh right the zombie apocalypse, gotcha. Read John Connors rant in American Handgunner from this month. Very informative. BTW, been bugging me for a bit now...
