Just got back from the range with my new PM 40. Shot 290 rounds. Shot 50 rds each of FMJ,Fiochhi, WWB, Blazer Brass, Magtech and 20 rds each of JHP by - Barnes TAC-XPD and, Ranger "T" with only one [1] minor issue . I believe I have a mag issue with one of my 5 rounders. I marked it and it would fail to lock the slide open on the last round most every time. I'll take it apart and check spring orientation, etc before I call Kahr. I couldn't really see anything different with it than the others.
I have to say I wasn't sure what to expect as I had earlier bought a CM 40 when they first came out and that was nothing but "trouble " from the get go for a number of issues. Hopefully the PM will keep up its good running. I own a number of Kahr's and wanted a .40 so I thought I'd give them another chance and so far so good. Safe shooting! Keep'em pointed down range......:)
Good range report. Another happy customer.

Try cleaning the mag inside and out with mineral spirits and check the follower for burrs or flashing.

A few of suggestions:
First, as you said, check for correct mag follower spring orientation and as was recommended check for any kind of interference between the follower and the magazine (some followers I have received for my PM40 had burrs that interfered with smooth full travel). Ensure the metal portion of the follower is not hanging up (dragging) on the lip of the magazine as it protrudes past the lip (some light dressing up of the metal portion of the follower may be required)
Next, check to ensure the metal portion of the mag follower is correctly contacting the beveled point of the slide stop (proper overlap is required for the follower spring to rotate the slide stop so that the slide locks open). For me removing the slide assembly and installing the slide stop pin, then inserting and removing the magazine repeatedly makes this check easy to perform.
Another idea: compare springs between the functioning and nonfunctioning magazine. A spring that has taken a compression set may not apply enough upward force to rotate the slide stop pin enough for reliable slide lockback.
Good luck.

like u have more than one magazine, so try this, take the inners out of a good working magazine and insert in the magazine tube and retest. If that works then try just changing the followers next, if it doesn't work, u know it is the mag tube spring. If it works then pu tthe original sprig in with the good followers frm ur second magazine and retest. U should be able to eliminate which one of the two moving parts are causing the issue. Make sure ur followers is not busted either. the 40 cals seem to be more prone if any to do that. This should be easy to toubleshoot IMO. Spring orientation is a must for proper reliability especially on that last round.
still a nice report on ur part. welcome aboard here to.
