Just got a new P380 and I'm going through a "Fluff and Buff". One thing that I noticed was the thinness of the barrel lug, "kidney opening" at the very bottom. Took a micrometer to it and it's only 0.03125 inches thick (1/32"). Has anyone noticed or measured the thinness of the bottom area?

Would some of you with a P380 take a look and see if yours is similar?

It's very thin, but the parts above that are what get the force during firing with the barrel tipping up and down for lock up. Mine is about .0305" at the thinnest.

My P380 has endure hundreds of rounds of +P ammo as well as a few thousand FMJ with no problems there.

Sorry. Tried to upload pics but can't find the "button labelled 'Manage Attachments'" per the FAQ section.

Below the message box, click on Go Advanced. Then below that one's box, you'll see manage attachments, but you have to have 30 posts first. You can use the http://kahrtalk.com/images/editor/insertimage.gif image in the tool bar or menu bar above the message text box to put the url from wherever your online photo is posted and post full images that way now.

"30 posts"...well that answers a whole lot of my questions. I'm sure it's in one of the "New Guys Read This Post" post.

I tried linking to a snapfish account but seems those links didn't work. I was just concerned about the thinness of the bottom of the lug. Since yours is in the same thickness range, I feel more comfortable.

Appreciate it Wynn! Thanks.

Just FYI. I sent in my pics and measurements to Kahr. They're response was: "This does meet the specs for this model firearm. We expect this will function normally."

If anyone wants pics that I took or can post them for me on this thread I'll email them to you. PM me your email address.
