Great chase scene. Real, or Hollywood?

Hollywood. It was a good movie.
I hope the cat at 0:49 made it ok.

End Of Watch?
Craziest chase I had started in Mount Vernon, came into my precinct in the Bronx, into Queens, ended in Brooklyn. No alleys or small streets but speeds were well over 100 and we radio'd ahead to raise the arm on the Whitestone Bridge if we didn't have the manpower to stop them there.
We passed through that tight toll at over 90. Chase was due to him stabbing a child and shooting at responding police. Chase was initiated after midnight on a weekday so the roads were pretty clear. Never got as close as in the video, it ended when he crashed into a telephone pole. He got out shooting too, only with an empty gun. :-)

Real or not I have been in several chase/shootouts. Very intense but a part of the job that must be done.

It looked real to me, and it had the right outcome, 2 dead perps.

I did this job for over 32 years in the Cleveland area. I lost three brother officers in that time. Pursuits are always gut-wrenching. It's even tougher in a one-man car where you have to steer with one hand and hold the mike in the other. You have to learn how to control the adrenalin rush. Fortunately, pursuits are fairly rare. Like many jobs, if you train constantly, and keep your head, you will usually come through ok

Good Job Officers, and you saved the Taxpayers a bunch of money too. No one left to house or feed and pay for their lawyer, the costs of a trial, and all the other expenses the criminals rack up while incarcerated.
