I am confused on the proper maintenance of the striker channel for my pm9. What is the proper care. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can pretty much leave it alone. That area is not a normal maintenance spot.

Hey fellas-

New guy here. Hardcore 9mm Glock shooter STRONGLY considering a Blackened PM9 for "discreet" carry. Would it be advisable to hit the striker channel with a can of spray gun cleaner as part of the inital steps to take prior to shooting the 1st time? I think I have a can of Gun Scrubber aersol in the basement. Just blow that crap thru all the openings to clean anything forign out???

Thanks!

That is pretty much the idea, there is a little clean out hole that you can spray into. I would also leave that striker channel dry, oil attracts dirt, which turns into worse crap later. http://kahrtalk.com/kahr-tech/1521-proper-prep-new-kahr.html That should answer in a bit more detail.

yes clean the channel. also go to the kahr tech section and hit on the PROPPER PREPPING OF YOUR NEW KAHR. It will giveyou some nice break in time saving tips. Nice gun. enjoy it.. I lovemy G19, best shooter I have ever had, but that beign said I carry my PM9 24/7 in my pocket due to the ease of carrying it and also it is as reliable as any glock I have ever owned. 29,100 rounds through it and never an issue. My bet is that your defense carrying glocks might take a back seat if you buy a PM9, so be careful, those glocks gets pissed if they hav eto sit at home.. I have my G19 locked in a safe, not because I think someone will steel it but due to the fact it is pissed at me for leaving it home allthe time...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info. I actually already have the Blackend PM9 on order at my local shop. There are none currently in stock at their distributors so I will have to wait a bit I suppose. My Glock 19 is mostly my "home" pistol and when I can carry in a holster it is always my Glock 26 (man I LOVE that pistol). Some days at work, I need something very discreet and looking to upgrade from a snub for times when I want to pocket carry something that is very flat.

Thanks again, I hope I get a good one out of the box!

Wish me luck...

glocks, keep the 19 but keep the 26 really spiffy clean, so that after you get the PM9 and find out the G26 is entirely to big, that it will look like new when you sell it. I just don't see you carrying the 26 after owning the PM9, as small as the G26 is, it is big compared to the PM9 . A great gun but the G19 is the ultimate, for me anyways. I just got back from shooting my PM9 a 100 rounds, now alittlle over 29,100 and no issues to date. I shoot it good at 10 yards but my g19 just puts them in the same hole and when I get back to 20 yards I am all over the place with my PM9 and my G19 groups are still awesome for me, as I see through multi line. glasses....

just let me know how you feel about your PM9 after you have shot it a couple hundred rounds and how nice it just drops in your front pocket. then if you still feel that way, yup we will probably have to step out the back door and u know:popcorn:

I sure hope she runs without any fuss. I REALLY want to like this pistol. If I am going to be totally fair, I am slightly afraid of losing some love for my tried and true Glocks...:(

my G19 out today with my PM9 . Love to shoot um both, but my G19 today started to fail to lock open on the last round every time. I have the extended slide lock leve ron it and up to today never had an issue. I neve rholster this gun, it just sits in my shooters box. Upon inspection I noticed the slide lock lever is bend enough to prevent propelr lockingopen. Now if you have ever had an extended slide lock lever, you will know that it is stronger than hell and wouldnever get bent either. Mine is, have no clue how either. I don't consider this an issue. I do consider it a bad part for some reason. I would think it was something that I had to do somehow also.

I just ordered another replacement and will install it myself. It bothered me not either. So do I go on a glock forum and hammer glocks over this issue. SOME MIGHT.. If your a glock lover, then I doubt if you will lose the love for them, but IMO if you want to conceal carry and not have to dress to do it, then the kahr PM9 will steal your heart. IF your truly looking for a defense gun, and to me a defense gun is a gun THAT YOU ALWAYS GRAB WHEN WALKING OUT THE DOOR.

My LCP is like my American Express Card... I don't leave home without it. I am looking forward to my PM9 getting back from Robar so it can take over those duties from my LCP.

Drew,

That's how I got started down this slippery slope of Kahr-o-philia (as some
members here can attest to) My G19 is my nightstand gun, G26 has been my
EDC for a long time but I needed more discreet carry so I got an LCP. I felt
a bit undergunned and bought the PM9-DLC. Let me tell you, it is one sweet
shooting gun. And yes, Jocko is right, your G26 is going to get lonely sitting
in the safe. There's no question that nothing can replace the warm fuzzies I
get carrying my "never fail" Glocks but the flatness and compactness of the
PM9 really is addicting. Now just don't go out and also buy a 1) PM45 2)CW40
and 3) P380 after the PM9............or you'll feel as silly as I do:)

Good luck with your gun and post a report after you get it.

I wish I had that silly feeling. Worst part is I saw a K-40 (the model that I fell in love with and got my started with Kahr) for $500, I can't scrape that together right now. My heart may never beat again. I also saw an FNP-40 another I want one of those guns for $429, and I'm wishing I could scrape one gun together. Oh well, I still cling to the hope that one day I might have some disposable income.
