Hi, I figured I would post the PM45 photos from my P380 range testing (posted on the Kahr Tech subfolder) here.
I shot several kinds of 230-grain FMJ ammo, starting with 50 rounds of Remington UMC.
Before starting shooting, I had talked with one of the GS guys about their range ammo. The .45 ACP is remanufactured by Atlanta Arms & Ammo, Inc in Atlanta ,GA. labeled.45ACP 230GR TCJ . The bullets were good looking and at first glance looked like FMJ, but closer examination reveals a slightly rougher look. The bullets are fully coated with copper by electrolysis, I think. They went bang with vigor and hit the point of aim... as well as I can shoot.:D At $17 a box, I thought "What the heck?" I'm looking for factory FMJ at that price and I might as well shoot the range ammo and save mine.
I had no problems with the two boxes I shot. I'll use that in the future because it's cheap and has no exposed lead.
I also shot my last box of Wolf ammo. I had two malfunctions... FTFeed and partial chambering. I cleaned the feed ramp and ran an oily cloth through the barrel a few times and finished up with no problem.
I let the two guys next to me shoot a 5-round magazine each of PMC 230-gr FMJ to try the PM45. They were quite taken with the size for a .45, and how well it shot, though they weren't used to the DAO-type trigger. One was interested in getting a .45 and I told him the CW45 was a pretty good deal and only slightly longer in barrel and grip.
I found one Federal .45 ACP on the floor just in front of my station, so I got a picture of that being fired, too.
First up the UMC... pretty bright flashes;
