I've resisted using a IWB holster for a long time, primarily because I find OWB holsters to be more comfortable. This year, in the interest of more flexible summer dress, I decided to try give IWB carry a honest try. I decided on Cook's Holsters (http://www.cooksholsters.com/#!online-store/copg/!/~/category/id=5681425&offset=0&sort=normal) of north Georgia, because they make a small Kydex IWB holster, for the CM9 with Laserguard, that's of good quality, has adjustable retention, and adjustable cant (0-25 degrees). Since I'm new to IWB carry, I wanted the options of 4 0'clock or appendix carry. Immediately, I knew it was not going to be as comfortable as OWB carry, 'cause it felt like I had 2lbs of plastic in my pants where it didn't need to be. The the holster is nicely designed and finished very well, so it's not the fault of the maker. My solution to this problem was to cover the surface of the holster that's next to my skin with moleskin. This worked out very well, and my IWB Kydex holster is now just about as comfortable as my OWB leather holsters.

I try a all kydex holster not very comfortable. So this time I pick up a hybrid type holster with a single clip. Very comfortable so far.

I had a Holster Store Kydec and leather OWB holster and found it made way too much noise from the leather creaking, so that option was not on my list this time, and the hybrids usually tend to be a bit larger than Kydec holsters. Your hybrid is about the smallest I've seen.

Where in your pants should 2lbs of plastic be?
Seriously, good upgrade to your holster. It looks pretty good too. I'm not a big fan of plastic between me and my gun either. Those hybrids look intriguing but do they bend enough to be comfortable?

I prefer something quiet, pliable, soft, sticky, cushioned and comfortable for IWB...like Remora. I have Kydex for OWB and works fine on range, but they are noisy. Situations can arise where you need to draw your concealed very quietly. Remora fits all IWB carry needs and is priced right. That's just me.

How many moles did you have to skin to make that thing?

Dohcacr, what adhesive did you use to glue the moleskin to the kydex? BTW, the Cook's people are great. I live just 20 minutes away and wanted to see the various holsters in person. They let me come to the plant, took the time to show the holsters, and answered all my questions. A Cook's is my next holster.
Skater4790, I agree that your hybrid is the smallest I've seen. What brand, etc. is it?

Backlash, if you are not familiar, Moleskin is a material that is meant to protect blisters and abrasions from the friction of your boots. It's a mainstay of hikers. The adhesive is a part of the moleskin, you just strip the liner on the back of the moleskin to uncover the adhesive. Moleskin should be available in any drugstore, and the adhesive on any of it should be pretty good, since it is meant to stick to your sweaty feet. I picked up my moleskin at Dollar General. It was $1.12 for enough to cover two holsters(3 -3.5"x4.5" pieces). The adhesive on the moleskin I bought shows no tendency to come unglued during the last two days that I've been wearing the holster.

I'm going to try that today. If you don't like it, you can just peel it off and wipe off the extra sticky. Replacing with fresh skin would be cheap too.

I think you'll be surprised how easy it is to apply well. The moleskin will pick up every contour of your holster effortlessly.
