CW45 Mag

Ok, I took the new mag out of my cw45 and when I push the follower down the metal piece coming out of the follower( I haven't had a part but I take it's the end of spring) is hitting the top edge of the mag....I take it I need to file this down.

I wouldn't remove any metal from that part. The magazine may stop holding the slide open on empty. Try shooting the pistol and breaking it in first. There may be no problem. I had to buy a bunch of new followers for my P40 because I smoothed those metal bits down to stop rubbing... then the slide wouldn't lock back on empty magazine.
