Hey everyone I have been reading about Kahr's for a while and the folks on this forum seem to put out good info, so this morning I rolled the dice and bought a CW45. I have been obsessed with handguns for 40 + years so my insanity is full grown. I had severe reservations buying a handgun that seems to have a lot of inherent problems but I love a chalenge. I cleaned and relubed as per specs on this forum and will get out and start the break in in a day or so. I love the feel of this pistol and the trigger doesn't bother me at all . Once I get it broken in I plan on using it as a CCW piece because my next lightest 1911 starts out at 24 oz. empty.
Expect the best. Mine does well with 185 gr. 230 gr. P. and +P. Does not matter.

Good luck with it. If you find the grip too abrasive you can always add a Talon rubber type grip or a Hogue slip on.

Welcome. As a fellow CW45 owner I think you'll love it. I'm getting very good accuracy with all kinds of ammo, even the cheapest 230 FMJ's from WalMart. Stick with brass cases, people have reported issues with the steel case TulAmmo. My CW45 will lead with cast bullets, but I'm hoping this improves as the round count goes up. For now you may want to adjust your favorite reload to use a plated Berry's or RMR bullet. I've also found that in my gun SWC's can be problematic as the ejecting case occasionally catches the step in the bullet profile. I love the clean holes from a Berry's 200gr. SWC, but will be using a flat or hollow point from now on. My CW45 seems to feed very well, never any issues due to bullet shape.
Sorry, my enthusiasm seems to be running wild this morning.

I scooped up a used CW45 a while ago. It's had a cple hiccups but it's due to the 1911 mags cause the stock mag had been flawless.
Definitely a rubber grip cover is nice. I didn't mind shooting it without the cover but when CCin the grip is like a cheese grater on bare skin.

pbagly,
Thanks for the welcome and I am sure that I will do fine with my CW45. I cast my own slugs and the alloy mix that I use is works very well with my 44 specials at 900+ fps and my other 45's have no issues with leading. I have a few different molds in .452 so if my 200 gr.LSWC gives me any feeding problems I will use the 230 gr. Trunicated mold. That is a profile that generally feeds well in any pistol that I have come across that wants to act up. If necessary I will pick up some jacketed slugs to help with the break in. With the stiff recoil spring I may have to bump up my plinking load for reliable function but I will try some of what I have loaded before I start fixin stuff;)
